mga bossing, have you encountered hearing a grinding sound while shifting to reverse? i thought na normal lang yun but as i could hear it, parang hindi nagmemesh ang gears niya kaya meron grinding sound when i shift to reverse. although dun lang sya umiingay, pagkapasok na, ok naman ang takbo. What i was wondering is, hindi sya nangyayari always, most of the time lang. merong times naman na hindi ko maipasok to reverse. so what i would do is binibitawan ko muna ang clutch, then step on it again, then kambyo ko ulit to reverse. then i would hear that grinding sound for a second tapos pasok na sa reverse. weird no? natatakot na ko coz tunog talaga ng gears ang grinding sound.

    ano ba car mo bro?

Hope this help.

    my two cents.

    Nissan Vanette '95 bro

Sometimes, kala mo engage na sya sa reverse but when you step on the gas, dun na yung grinding sound.

yes. maliliit daw kasi rubber bushing nya. kaya yung reverse madalas tamaan.

make sure you're in full stop before shifting to reverse.

    ravelcop,
have your shifter linkage bushings checked. after sometime, the bushings crack, wearout or simply breaks apart.

also, check the engine mounts specially the torque reaction strut (dogbone) usually installed at the north of the engine (12 o'clock position) compartment between the radiator frame and the cylinder head. the shifter arm on top of the transmission will engage but sometimes slightly pull out of gear. remember, your honda is oriented west-east (engine at nine o'clock and transmission at three o'clock) and the torque reaction is to pull away from the firewall on reverse.

Ako naman, just recently change my Clutch Disc, pressure plate and Release bearing. Hard shifting na kasi and me pagka sliding na. I have a 96 Corolla Gli. After the work, I did notice na medyo tricky yung reverse nya. Initial gamit ko after the work, grabe grinding ng reverse, parang truck. Then after a few driving, nahuli ko na kiliti.
Should this be the reaction even new yung clutch system ko??
    Salamat sa mga magrereply...
