Flashing D - Automatic Tranny

Hello tsikoteers!

May malala yata akong problema, yung D sa dashboard keeps blinking on my civic 02, the car just came out of a paint shop at im 101% sure na hindi ganito yung kotse nung iniwan ko sa kanila. i searched over the net whats causing the flashing D, tranny problema daw and some even went thru transmission overhauling which will cost me alot and sa totoo lang hindi ko na afford. hirap humatak yung sasakyan, naka floor na ako at lahat pero max ata nya is 60KPH lang! meron kayang kinalaman ang paint shop dito? they had the car over 3 weeks, before napunta sa kanila to nakarating pa ito ng baguio couple of days before and walang ka proble-problema.

give me advise naman, im thinking baka nag smudge na yung ATF kaya hirap siya, sana ganun lang pero wag naman sana overhaul may liability ba ang paint shop dito?

check ninyo ATF level and quality of the oil. maybe a refill or change ATF will solve the problem. Your blinking "D" tell you there is something wrong.

thanks for the prompt response, ok ung ATF Level. yun nga po sir nabasa ko blinking D means tranny problem, sabi nung un tinanungan ko overhaul na daw agad katapat nyan, nasindak talaga ako nung sinabi nya yun.. sana simple draining of ATF lang to.

i really hate modern crappy automatic transmissions... bibigyan ka lang ng panadaliang ginhawa pero pag nagkasira lahat sayo damay na bulsa, oras sa trabaho at kung ano ano pang sakit ng ulo...

anyway, check mo din baka naman may nakalas lang na connection or naputol na wire..hugutin mo yung mga connectors baka may nabasa at nag loose na... sana hindi nasunog yung transmission mo nung pinuwersa mo pa tumakbo kahit nag blink na yung D.. check the smell nung atf kung amoy sunog at kulay brown na at kung may metal bits sa atf... try drain atf and clean the filter..

oo nga sir, grabe to pinapinturahan ko lang ung kotse pag balik sa akin ganito nangyari.. ayoko mag bintang pero sa tingin ko talaga liable ang shop kung san ako nagpapintura.

ok naman yung ATF Fluid, may ma rerecomend ba kayo automatic tranny specialist around qc? as much as possible ayoko muna sa banawe.

Di ba sa banawe mo pinapintura kotse mo. Konti lang pinagkakatiwalaan ko jan. Dami mga surplus shop jan. Ang dali dali gumawa ng kalokohan.

Check mo maigi transmission kung yung atf filter eh yun pa din or bago na. Minsan kasi ang mga manloloko hindi pulido ang panloloko kaya pwede mahuli.

Sinabi mo na ba sa kanila yung nangyari?

May mga shop na may check list silang sinusunod na tinitignan ang sasakyan mo bago mo iwanan sa labas ng sasakyan dent ,pintura at iba pa . Ibig sabihin lang niyan iwas rin ang mayari ng shop sa mgas ganitong sitwasyon . Reminder lang siguro magpagawa na lang sa mga kakilala mong auto shop.

try mo muna ipa lift yung kotse mo to inspect your tranny. madali naman makita kung nagalaw ang mga turnilyo niyan para ma rule out kung may kalokohan yung shop.

baka naman during the paint process may natangal na connector or baka yung ibang electronic components ang tinira dahil mas madaling i swap ito kung may hinala ka talaga sa shop.matagal din ang 3 week kung hinde mo nabisita ang shop between that period.

update mo na lang kami boss.sana makita ang problema ng auto at mahal magpa overhaul. AT user din ako kaya extra care ang kailangan. mahal ipa service ang AT.

mga sir hindi po ako sa banawe nagpa paint, somewhere in mindanao ave. they removed everything, carpets seats center console etc, sa engine bay naman wala sila tinangal takip dyaryo lang. pansin ko lang talaga ayaw mag shift ng auto kaya medyo natatakot talaga ako.

reco to drain and put new atf. i did that when experienced the same with my old audi a4.

guys went to zee kanina and they diagnosed my tranny with a software, it turned out grounded/shorted relay switch. 1200 binayad ko, unexpected un kala ko free ung check up pero no choice ako so i paid the amount, they quoted me 3800 for the labor/test/replace/ etc.. so i went back to the owner of the paint shop to talk about the issue, he referred me to his mechanic in banawe so i went there around 12noon, it took the mechanic 4 hours to no avail after the last try he did something underneath the steering wheel, placed a relay im not really sure, and FINALLY IT WORKED, i can now reach 3rd 4th gear without a problem, worry ko lang baka di pang matagalan yung ginawa nung mechanic pero i have to cross my fingers sana ito na talaga yun.

what seems to be a 30-40k problem was solved without even touching the tranny it self and it only cost 1.5k.

sana di na maging problema to sa future, i already invested so much with this car and i really cannot let it go ng ganun ganun lang.

they will pero 3800 babayaran kaya nag decide ako bumalik sa paint shop muna para kausapin ung owner, para baga hati kami sa bayad or sagutin nya lahat til he referred me to a mechanic
