    Place in "P" position?

Alam ko by stepping hard on the gas pedal, auto tranny shifts down a gear. Then without releasing pressure from it, shifting patterns change to sport type simultaneously reaching just above the red line limit.

tama, step hard on the accelerator pedal will downshift. pwede mo din gamitin yung shifter. from D lagay, off mo yung overdrive, tapos lagay mo sa 2.

    Toyota Corolla GLi A/T

When in D w/ OD on: the tranny shifts thru gears 1,2,3,4
When in D w/ OD off: the tranny shift thru gears 1,2,3
when in 2 w/ OD off: the tranny shifts thru gears 1,2
when in L w/ OD off: the tranny shifts stays in 1

gear use with OD/off is the same as with OD/on except with the use of the 4th gear.

    Mazda 323 Familia A/T

When in D w/ hold off: the tranny shifts thru 1,2,3,4
when in D w/ hold on: the tranny stays in 3, using 1,2 only minimally
when in 2 w/ hold on: the tranny stays in 2 using 1 only minimally
when in 1 w/ hold on: the tranny stays in 1

in Mazda 323 Familia with hold "on", the tranny will only use the other gears long enough to reach the minimum speed to use the user selected gear as compared to with hold "off" it will use all the gears to reach optimum speeds in each gear.

the mazda 323 familia a/t tranny is fun to abuse especially if your shifter-lever doesn't stick (smooth shifting). Plus the engine is very torquey and more than willing to rev up all the way to the redline. Front-rear weight is good and with enough speed and proper technique, drifting the familia is fun although recovery from a drift isn't as smooth as I would like it to be.
