My mysterious clutch...

Pagtapak ko kaninang umaga sa clutch ko to start my engine, hindi na naman bumalik ang pedal. Lubog na naman.

So I popped the hood to check. SIMOT ang reservoir! Silip ako sa ilalim, wala naman kalat ng brake fluid. Sa loob ng reservoir may parang black powdery residue whose significance I am not really aware of.

So I fill it up with DOT3 again. Balik ako sa cabin and pump the clutch like crazy until magkapressure ulit. Pero medyo lantoy pa rin. And when I checked the reservoir, naging itim ang fluid! Hehehe.

So I drive to school. Ang lambot ng clutch, minsan ayaw bumalik. I even had to stop along Quezon Ave. to check on it pero puno pa din.

Nung malapit na ko sa UST, aba biglang bumalik ang stiffness ng clutch! Parang walang nangyari. I checked the levels after I parked and hindi din nagbawas.

Ano kaya nangyari? Anyways I will have it checked at Chieffy's after class. Mahirap na at baka hindi ako makauwi. Hehehe.

Parang hindi na bleed properly first time round. Parang lang. :D

the same thing happened to my pickup. you need to replace the rubber gasket (repair kit)....mura lang yun, P150 lang ata sa banawe.

Check the seals, yung black stuff siguro accumulated dirt lang.

Ok lang kung walang clutch, you can always have it towed, ang mahirap kung hindi ka maka pag-offroad :D

mukha nga kelangan mo na magpalit ng repair kit - rubbers and spring lang ata yun. baka tumatagas na sa rubber seals. ewan lang. :confused:

Alam ko kapapalit lang ni OTEP ng Seiken repair kit. Baka peke nabili mo, hehehe. :D

sir rsnald yun sayo ba nagpalit kana ng repair kit yun sa akin on n off yun clutch ko hirap tuloy mag change gear

master ang may problema, worn out na yung rubber cup, pumupuslit na yung fluid

Otep, tignan mo sa footwell mo. may leak ba coming from the pedal-to-clutch mechanism?

yep, pinalitan yung sakin sa casa nung 30K checkup ko. nagulat nga ako e, nakita ko na lang na may kinakalikot yung mekaniko under my van. simple lang yung replacement kit, meron rubber seals and a spring. tapos, nirefill yung reservoir ng brake fluid. P420 yung repair kit (Oct. 02 price) plus yung brake fluid.

ang pinagtataka ko non, di naman nagloloko yung clutch ko....:confused: or baka naman di ko lang pansin.

Yung lower (secondary/slave) piston pala ang problema. Yung pinalitan ko last time ay yung upper. Wala kasing Seiken na lower nung nagpalit ako last summer. FIC ata yung binigay saken. Sabi sa Mit-Parts Banawe hindi daw talaga maganda yun. Sa mga FB at light duty lang nila binebenta ang FIC stuff. And to think mas mahal pa yung FIC kaysa sa Seiken. Ngek.

Yung Seiken nga pala na nabili ko is Php 150.00. Tapos may baon na kong brake fluid.

Salamat po muli Chieffy. Sana ito na ang huling problema ko sa clutch na iyan.

oteps, pag may black thing, ibig sabihin kinakain na yung rubber. did you check the master too and clean it. dapat maubos yan. 2 possible causes. Yung slave mo ganyan na kaya kinain na rin yung master mo. pag palit mo ng master, bumigay na ng tuluyan yung slave. pag may black rubber powder it means may abrasive. either lihain yung cylinder or palit ka ng buo kasi most of the time pag repair kit lang bumabalik. observe mo lang. dapat di mangitim yung brake fluid.

im having the same clutch problem po sa pajero... same model as of otep's... ano po uli yung bibilhin? and san po papagawa? how much po kaya aabutin? bago lang po kasi ako sa manual transmisioned vehicle inosente pa po tnx po

Primary clutch repair kit (taas) = Php 200.00
Secondary clutch repair kit (ilalim) = Php 150.00

Both these prices are from Mit-Parts Banawe and are very much subject to haggling pa.

Ask Chieffy na lang regarding labor costs.

Yup, suspect ko nga goma yung itim. We flushed out the hydraulics using lots of new brake fluid and sanded the internals of the slave cylinder. I hope everything goes well.
