So kung agressive ang tapak mo, possible na sa 3,000 RPM or more bago mag shift up.

have minor adjustment to the Automatic Transmission Throttle Cable (can be seen on the engine throttle)... normally this cable is adjusted to the lowest setting but if there are delays in shifting..or slight slippage you need to adjust this to compensate.. on normal road and running condition A/T should shift just before reaching 2000rpm, if you step on the gas for more power shifting will be delayed slightly by past 2000rpm or more... adjusting your A/T Throttle Cable will compensate this delay in shifting

Thanks guys sa mga inputs nyo. naka unpress po yung OD ng starex when i drive.smooth driving lang po ginagawa ko, sometimes yung 2nd & 3rd gear before mag 2,000 nagshishift na po, pero most of the time lagpas talaga sa 2thou. dati naman po syang smooth shifting lang, i mean hindi galit yung makina bago mag shift. 3 months ko kasi syang hindi nai drive since nagkaron ako ng driver that time hanggang sa nasira na at umabot na sa overhauling ng engine. so tinanggal ko na driver ko, after ma overhaul, eto na nga, pakiramdam ko delayed na yung shifting. kaya last monday nadaanan ko mitsubishi casa, dun ako nagpa change atf at gear oil, hoping magiimprove yung shifting pero ganun pa din.
thanks din sir yapoy for the info, will try to ask sa malapit na mechanic sa amin about that cable. sana adjustment nga lang.

that's the problem. if the overdrive button is not engaged (meaning overdrive off) then talagang mas mataas rpm bago magshift. try turning the overdrive on para bumaba sya.

thanks sa reply speedyfix. is it you miggs? i bought RP dyan sa shop mo, gumanda fuel consumption ng focus ko.
sorry na confuse din ako sa post ko.. i meant naka OD on parati ako mag drive. may possibility ba na synchronisers ang may sira kahit na delayed shifting lang? thanks

    try injection pump indeed.

the tranny does not engage to higher gear when it thinks you are on extra load. peru it was a power lost pala, not the load. after your overhaul, your engine might have lost some power. or the mechanic touched the pump.

but if you can't find the problem in the pump or the engine, then you have to calibrate your tranny kick-down cable to the new overhaul power. meaning, you have to slack the tranny cable until getting the best result. don't loosen it too much though, it will burn your tranny faster.

btw, you have to have it fix asap. prolonging it will permanently damage your tranny. the slippage might become permanent.

sorry we don't. just go to any wheel shop and normally they sell generic spacers there for the corresponding amount you want to space the rim. normally they come in 5mm increments.

hi sirs...ako din may prob sa at. pag first start kasi, mejo delayed mag kick ang transmission, especially ung reverse. Is this normal? its an old car na din, a 96 corolla gli matic. also, is it still normal for may speedometer to reach around 2800-3000 RPM at 80km/hr

thanks a lot... so much to learn information from the posters here

not normal po yan situation ni cliffy1523, dapat when you engage to R dapat engage agad yan no delays.. at normal driving speeds and acceleration. 60km/h nasa 2000rpm to 2,200rpm lang dapat ang engine rpm and your transmission is already at 4th gear just before reaching 80km/h you will feel another "kick in" of the transmission (actually this is the additional GRIP provided by the torque converter as its ATF pressure is increased) and your rpm will drop to 1,800 rpm to 2000 rpm and from this you will reach 100km/h at 2,500 rpm more or less..
