mga masters, tanong ko lang (although na discuss ko na to w/ master boknoyXTrm2001Xuvi2003), gano ba katagal ang lifetime ng clutch bago palitan? how many kilometers? and how do you know the symptons of a clutch that needs replacement.

napansin ko kasi to yesterday and this morning while I was driving. When I accelerate fast and reach around 3000 rpm, bigla na lang parang humihina yung tako ko, as in parang nag-flat out yung power. pero the RPM remains at 3000 rpm. when I decrease RPM, andun na ulit yung normal pull ng engine. pag high RPM lang nawawala. instinct tells me na baka it's either air in my fuel line or my clutch is slipping. Nag purge at binomba ko yung fuel/water separator ko last night, andun pa rin. yung problem. so I guess, palitin na clutch ko. whacha think? tama ba analysis ko?

just what to get more opinions... aside from mine and master boknoy's.

Are you sure that you have drain the water fully out? When your tried to pump back the fuel in, does diesel come out from the drain spout?

What you can do and try if it has slipping clutch is, let the engine idle, shift to 5th gear then disengage the clutch in a normal manner. If the engine dies the moment you release the clutch pedal, it is still fine.

Note: Do try the technique without any obstruction from front and rear of the vehicle. Possible in an open parking space to avoid something or someone if the vehicle suddenly surge.

Clutch wear is subjective from every driver and original parts production. Some fade at 50K kms. while others 80K kms, you will be lucky enough if it reaches 100K kms. with the original parts still intact.

sir, with regards to your problwm i read something like that somewhere e. tama si sir ungas, to check it, when your vehicle is standing still try to put it in 5th gear if the engine did not stall then it's time to replace the clutch. replacing it is subjective to use (or abuse) so we cannot have an exact figure here. =>

nakabalik na pala forum natin... buti naman...
update lang... nakahinga ako ng maluwag coz it's not the clutch after all! *whew*!!
at least di mabubutas bulsa ko because of repair$$$$!!

it's a clogged primary filter. lately kasi, been using biodiesel heavily for the last month, as in, 1 gallon biodiesel per 1/2 or even 1/4 tank of fuel or 1 liter BD per almost empty tank. in preparation yun for my emission testing (which I passed btw , K reading = 0.78). di mo mapapansin na clogged yung filter kasi lumulusot pa rin naman yung fuel pag binobomba mo yung fuel/water separator. nalaman ko lang na madumi na talga when I filled up the filter with clean (crystal clear) diesel, then shake the filter to clean the filter, madumi na yung lumalabas na diesel.
so temporary solution ko... I got my old fuel filter, cleaned it with diesel, then install. ayun! ok na ulit. I can rev up to redline na ulit and acceleration has returned.

    * xwind,
pre ang $$$mahal$$$ pala ng papalit ng primary repair kit clutch! mas matindi ka yata mag shift kesa sa kin.

it takes a lot of patience and a long smooth stretch of road... mahirap talaga paabutin ng 130 -140 ang crosswind. Clean your air filters. change oil regularly, and most of all, mahaaaaaaaaaaaaaabang take off. sa north ka di ba? sa NLEX mo lang mapapaabot ng 130 kph yan. pag provincial roads, di ako nagpapatakbo ng mas mabilis sa 100 kph (except when overtaking). daming tricycle pa naman kahit na national roads.
minsan ang trick dyan, bombahin mo yung accelerator 1 or 2 times pag parang kinakapos na. that gives a brief burst of fuel so meron konting dagdag na hatak.

    ano ang TLC?

my butch's clutch broke down last year when my dad was using it. We still don't understand why it went off so early. Anyway, refrain from shifting without using the clutch (??) I think this is one reason why clutches loose their grip..just my two cents.

rsnald, thanks for the update, ako rin I thought it was the clutch, Bagong calibrate pa naman ang injection pump ko. Sabi sa calibration ay palitan ko ng clear plastic iyung fuel line from fuel filter to injection pump para ma-view kung may bula o hangin. Nagpalit ako and meron nga at high rpm.

Meron very small leak sa filter, konting higpit lang...ok na.
