January 26th, 2005 02:45 AM #1i have a 95 corolla 2E engine M/T. it makes a dragging sound (nanginginig) kapag ni-release sa primera. ano kaya problema? parang mababa rin kasi ang menor pero kapag tinaasan mo naman may times na hindi namamatay ang makina kapag pinatay mo ang makina. clutch kaya problema or what? another question... what will happen kung mali ang adjustment ng distributor? ang nakalagay sa manual 10 degrees lang. what will happen kung sobra (more than 10 degrees)? kung kulang kaya? please help. thanks.

If the dragging usually happens in the first gear and with a normal engine temperature. It is usually the clutch disc (slipping/engagining in a fast rhythmic cylce). If you are pertaining to your idle. it should be within 800 to 950rpm. But it will not make your clutch drag, by increasing your idle you will sometimes eliminate the dragging but the main problem is still there.
Your 2E Engine should be time at 10 degree with all vacuum hose disconnected from the vacuum advancer and plug. Kung sobra ang timing you will have a degraded engine power, if sobra-sobrang advance may tiyope (knocking sound) ka na maririnig. If retarted or kulang again may loss in engine power too, if its too retarted big engine loss of power and overheating.

March 15th, 2010 09:54 AM #4That's a clear case of clutch drag. Replace your clutch and have your flywheel refaced.
