A/T Newbie

Up to now hindi ko pa rin mapag-aralan mabuti ang AT ng sasakyan ko: Isuzu DMAX. I've been used to driving a manual and this will be my first time. Some q's lang:

1. How do I check the fluid level? Sa manual kasi may mga temperatures pa corresponding to the level sa dipstick. Panu ba talaga?

2. How do I replace A/T fluid? Sa engine bay kasi walang lalagyam...dipstick lang to check the level. Parang M/T gear oil ba ang paglagay (from underneath)?

3. Can I perform an underwash sa rig ko? I just found out last night kasi na may mga wires and electricals underneath. Not sure kung connected ito sa A/T or sa computerbox. Okay lang ba pressurized underwash sa suking gas stations?

But just to answer your queries:

1) Warm the car up, move the tranny through all the gears and check the dipstick.
2) You need a funnel or tube and pour it down the dipstick tube.
3) Yes, why not?

When you say warm up the engine, would a 5 minute warm-up from cold start suffice?

Talaga? ganun ba yun? funnel or tube ang gamit? Weird naman of the manufacturers not to think of an easier way of pouring in at fluid.

As for the underwash...ngayn lang kasi ako naka encounter ng diesel rig na puro electricals sa ilalim..hehe.

yup... pero ung type ng fluid mahalaga, since new nama ride mo, may owner's manual yan, 95% nakalagay kung ilan liters (usually 8 liters) at ung atf type, na napakaimportante...post ko nalang ulit ung pagcheck ng atf:

while the engine is running, kung cold (1st start of the day), run for 5 mins, while shifting p-r-n-d-2-L-2-d-n-r-p then check for oil... kung may "cold", sa dip stick, dapat hanggang sa min to max range lang un...

kung mainit at naitakbo mo na, while engine is running, kung may "hot" sa dip stick dapat hanggang sa min to max range lang un.. otherwise, bawasan mo...

d lang ka kalinitan, o.d.-on....oovertake ka, o.d. off, ung 2 at L when going up/down hill...aside sa grade logic mo, alam ko dmax meron grade logic,e...

basta d ka lang 90% of the time....

ganyan talaga modern a/t... wala nga yan sa jdm hilux surf(4 runner), tranny lang no lever, puro spag of wires! may separate ecu yang a/t na independent sa engine ecu...

dont worry sa wires, rubber sealed and insulated mga yan.... funnel lang talaga, kaya be alwayz to have 1...

MARAMING MARAMING SALAMAT sa info and for re-posting stuff. Ang pagcheck ba ng
level ay dapat continuous na naka-idle ang makina or can I shut it off after warming up, then check the level sa dipstick?

while engine is running...para accurate..kung off ung engine, ung fluid level mo will go beyond the "max" mark...

pagkabunot, punas mo muna, then dip mo ulit, bunot, doon mo palang makukuha ung correct level...

pano makakatipid? wag ibaon ang silinyador. hehehe

tama si boss theveed ginamitan ako ng funnel nung nagpalit ng tranny fluid. sa GTS along congressional ave ako nagpagawa and they know how to do it right. pati yung moving from gear to gear.
