February 11th, 2011 03:36 AM #1Hi All !
Ride is a corolla xl lovelife 2000.
Am just wondering how often should I change clutch fluid and brake fluid ? 40,000 km ?
What are the signs that the clutch fluid should be changed ?
I'm not sure but I think the clutch pedal is getting stiffer than before.
Thanks !

your car was fitted with DOT3 brake fluid that is hygroscopic-meaning, it will absorb moisture, and if it does, the boiling point drops. in addition, the water from the condensed moisture attacks the brake lines, wheel cylinders, calipers and other valves in the system. most car manufacturers recommend the fluid be flushed and replaced at two years. brake fluid you use to replace the old one must come from a sealed container and the master cylinder be properly capped. there is a vent on top of the master cylinder on most asian vehicles not like north american made cars where there is a diaphragm that blocks air from interacting with the brake fluid in the master cylinder
