    boybi::: Naka-DSL ka naman di ba? Pwede mong gamitin yung existing DSL modem as a hub. Connect mo sa extra lines behind it. Gano kalayo ba ang balak mong kabitan? Alam ko may specified length ang cables para di bumagal ang connections. Wireless? Mahal kasi kaya nagtyaga na lang ako magbutas ng pader namin. :D

    Ungas, yung 1 comp nasa 1st flr, yung isa nasa 2nd flr. pag ginamit ko DSL modem as hub, pwde ba mag network gaming?

    boybi::: Pwedeng pwede.. kadalasan ginagamit namin dito sa Counter Strike networked from 2 pc or sabay nakakonek sa cs.pinobattle.net server.

    boybi::: Nokia brand po tong pinahiram sa akin ng DSL provider. Pero kahit na ibang brand ng modem dapat may mga extra plug ins yan. Para pwedeng gawing hub.

    ungas.. bakit akin nokia pero wala xtra plug ins?

    ang panu ka magconnect sa server ng CS?. u type it that way?

    nokia 5122 has multiple port (ethernet port). however, if its a bridge-type modem, it cant be used as a hub (or install a hub, it wont work). unless, of course, you know the technical-know-how to get it done. but, if your 5122 is a router-type, it can be used as a hub.

    nokia 5121, 5921 has a single enthernet port. these are bridge-type modem.

    nortel also has a single port. but this is a router-type modem. you can install a hub here.

    btw, u can see the model type below the modem. :wink:

    Nortell kasi brand ng sa akin. baka pag 256kbps ang subscription mo tsaka nokia ang ibigay nilang modem? kung hindi, pwde ko kaya papalit ng nokia itong modem ko?

    boybi::: Nung nagsimula ako sa 128kbps eto na rin ang modem na pinahiram sa akin. Pinalitan lang nila ako ng PL#. Actually pwede ko nga gamitin 2 accounts, hehehe. :D Report mo kamo nasira yung modem ayaw magconnect. :twisted:

    PL# parang account number mo yan, everytime may trouble yan ang ibibigay mo sa techincal para madaling maayos.

    Nung simula saya ng naka 256, pero nung nagsimula na maging congested ang linya at network ng DSL dito sa area namin, wala na akong makitang difference. Dati naalala ko ilang mp3 server ang kaya ko magserve ng mp3's ngayon isang server lang gapang na linya ko. :?

    stay na muna ako sa 128. pag nai-network ko na mga pc dito tsaka na siguro ako mag upgrade.

    hey, sabi sakin ng isa sa mga PLDT men na mas maganda daw yung Nortel kesa sa Nokia(single port). wala na daw stock yung Nokia 5122(multi-port).
    128 - 256kbps slight noticeable. if your a hardcore gamer, advisable yung 256. other than that, stick to 128 (mas mura).
    PL# is equevalent ng tel# for data.
