Yes traffic is also caused by undisciplined PU drivers. Pero pwede naman ma-solve ito ng good traffic management and implementation. The problem is wala rin tayo nito.

October 19th, 2005 10:28 AM #33there are also some drivers -- private and puvblic vehicles -- na sumisingit via the outer or opposing lane, service road, etc to get ahead of a queue of cars about to make a turn. problem is,
-- nabablock ung lane that's supposed to to straight
-- nabablock ung opposing traffic

...and just this morning early in the morning, got a close encounter with private and PU drivers and pedestrian- who were all stupid.
there i was, on a lane that was blocked by a PUJ's both left and right, loading up passengers, and taking all the time in the world. i refrained from blowing my horn as it was useless. as soon as the street clears up, two private vehicles decided to counterflow- i let the AUV pass, but the sedan, who should yield as i move forward tried to beat me. nope, i didn't let the sedan pass. why should i let him? besides, i'm on the right side of the road. oh by the way, the slow-moving jerk of PUJ still hogging the middle of the road.
i daresay, the lack of road courtesy and discipline, can bring out the worst even to the disciplined drivers. more of a "domino effect"

PLUS, the buses all stop at bottleneck points like narrowing roads or at the foot of underpasses/ flyovers (usually nagse-swerve pa from the curbside lane hanggang sa overpass/underpass lane), which just multiplies the problem exponentially.
Galleria/Megamall (THE BIGGEST bottleneck sa northbound... on weekdays, backed up na to from galleria all the way to ayala, syet!)... bus stop, compounded by ortigas flyover bottleneck and pink fences sa megamall + yung lane ends sa leftmost lane sa pink fences (because of the MRT station).
Shaw underpass... underpass bottleneck, napupuno minsan yung buses dun sa itaas kaya nagbabara.
Guadalupe (before and after the bridge)... buses at the bus lane again. paglampas ng guadalupe lumuluwag
in short... BUSES + piss-poor planning (plus broken cars, which seems to happen very often) = holy crap traffic sa EDSA. on other roads, jeeps, buses, tricycles, counterflowing assholes, assholes who block intersections, assholes in the wrong lane,... haaaayLast edited by mbt; October 19th, 2005 at 12:35 PM.

October 19th, 2005 03:25 PM #37yup. grabe nga dyan sa megamall/robinsons area southbound during evening rush hours. ang isa sa pinakasasama ng loob ko e yung paggawa ng mrt. im not against it, actually i use this often, but rather the way it was constructed. ang sikip sikip na nga ng edsa binawasan pa ng tig 1 lane bawat direction. unlike the lrt 1 and 2, talagang naminimize yung na-occupy na street. panay tuloy bottleneck.

sinabi moh! i hardly see my children now. when they were young, schedules were more predictable.
Traffic!
