The speedgun (radar or laser) has a digital camera. Once a speeder has been "tagged", the license plate will be radioed to the expressway exits after the speed-trap. At the exits, expressway cops would be checking license plates of cars that match the make of the car radioed earlier.
And that is where the weak point is. If you carry a spare set of license plates (and if your car is relatively common, not a ferrari or porsche), you can just get through the expressway exit gauntlet.

A plate flipper is a fabrication job. You can't just bolt it on and expect a clean look.
That said, there are a few sites I have encountered that offer products/kits in that direction. Its a job for GOOGLE!
IMHO, it would be simpler to buy and install a laser jammer instead. This will give you warning if you are actively being tagged and jams the laser gun from taking a measure too. Downside, kits cost US$500 and up without shipping fees.Last edited by ghosthunter; March 21st, 2012 at 07:51 PM.
