I saw the news last night...the driver (woman) claimed she was going 5 to 10kph but as evidenced by the impact caused by van to the CRV it was obvious she was going faster than what she stated in her affidavit...she even said that her brakes malfunctioned (hindi daw kumagat) but the traffic investigator who impounded the vehicle tested the van and according to him the brakes were fine (the van was automatic tranny)...they theorized that she might have stepped on the gas pedal and not on the brakes due to her panic...
My condolences to the Ateneo student.

fatal accidents do really happen pero talagang napakahirap matanggap
hindi masusukat ang pagmamahal ng magulang sa mga anak. i'm sure the family's heart would heal in an appropriate time.
my condolences to the Alcantara family esp to Ma'am Melanie - the momLast edited by XTO; February 27th, 2009 at 08:44 AM.

We all know it was an accident and unintentional. But I believ it ould have been avoided...
1. I can't figure out na di ka maka preno sa ganun situation! That is just pure bull. As a driver syempre pag meron mga tao (in this situation kids!) sobrang slow down ka at nakaalalay sa preno lalo na at AT, diba?
2. Wala bang guards sa area at least to guide the kids from crossing the streets? Do traffic?
3. Base on everything I read so far, parang di pa remorseful yung nanay. That's totally un-acceptable. Dapat sobrang sorry sya di lang sa family but to the entire School and the public!

parang nag vary na din yung istorya...akala ko ba may driver at bakit pinatakbo niya? huh?
yeah, she must have shown remorse...nagbayad ka ng mahal na tuition only to see your son dead. di rin natin mawawala sa parents na namatayan if they're angry at the whole world...lalo na sa isang tao who caused it...well, if there's anything...time heals...meantime, she's gonna face the entire world judging her.

pano naman yong mga anak nya? she's a single parent and has two kids (as said by her lawyer in a tv interview). should they suffer because of their mother's "katangahan"?
i'm not trying to defend her. i'm just concerned about her kids. amiel's loved ones lost someone so precious to them. should we do the same to the loved ones of the person who started this all? wag naman sana. mga bata yon.
amiel's remains will be cremated later this afternoon. eternal rest grant unto him, o lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. may his soul rest in peace.
