ot: a few years ago yung isang kaibigan ko rin naaksidente dahil naapakan nya yun accelerator instead na brake. nalaglag sya 1 or 2 floors down (i can't recall) habang nagpapark. hindi nya maexplain kung bakit gas yun naapakan nya buti na lang walang nabagsakan.

Nangyari narin sakin yan.. pero di ako bumangga or nakabangga sa NLEX tolgate muntikan na .. haba pila ng sasakyan paparating ako preno preno ... then nung malapit na nagkamali ako naapakan accelerator.. muntik na kame sa ten wheeler truck buti nalang mabilis akong nakabawi at makapit preno ko ... salamat at walang nangyaring masama...

bases on some eyewitness, the kid raised his hand at itinutulak pa yung van paatras but wala siya nagawa at para ipaalam na nabundol. amf nakakalungkot talaga ito dahil nakakasama ko sa meeting ang mommy niya nung dito pa siya nagwo-work

Is the school liable for the death?

establish first whether the lack or inadequacy of parking space contributed to the accident...otherwise, the school can't be liable. or have a different theory and that is, the connection shall not point out directly to the alleged reckless mom who accidentally stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake...but when we take the news story hook line and sinker, it's reckless imprudence resulting to homicide and serious physical injuries...along this line, we can't ask the school to participate in the aspect of damages...maybe insurance claims, which is a part and parcel of school's "matriculation" paid during enrollment.

Also, its almost the same scenario to that Pajero A/T accident, mga student na magkabarkada and un isang girl (dad nya may ari ng Pajero) ay naiipit sa ilalim kasi natapakan ng friend (guy) un accelerator thinking wala un girl sa harap ng Pajero.....SUVic din yata un Pajero...tsk, tsk!!!

most probably settlement yan. now it's up to the Alcantara family if they want the mom jailed + settlement.

mahirap ang ganitong scenario. very sensitive ito. like for example, it's a mom. pano na yun mga anak nya if she's jailed. on the other hand, pa'no naman yun victim family. they lost a very impt. member.

now regarding dun sa article na kesyo may eyewitness na nakita yun mom trying to reach something from the floor. now that was just plain creative thinking unless admitted by the mom. sobrang detailed eh ...

It's a known fact for YEARS that Ateneo campus has not enough parking for it's needs.

Just ask any student or even visitors who have tried parking in the entire campus.
