Starting next week, for 3 weeks, lifted daw muna ang color coding. according to the metro manila mayors.

except makati.

MMDA to test suspended color-coding scheme

The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said Thursday it will suspend the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP), popularly known as the color-coding scheme, in Metro Manila except Makati from February 3 to 21.

MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando said the move will allow the agency to assess the potential impact of the planned abolition of the scheme on the flow of vehicular traffic on Metro Manila's major thoroughfares.

Fernando, however, said that suspension of the color-coding scheme does not include Makati City.

The color-coding scheme prohibits cars from being driven around Metro Manila from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays to Fridays based on the last digit of motorists' license plates. It was the brainchild of then traffic czar Romeo Maganto.

if the news is true and that makati will be left out then i have to question how about people going to other parts of metro manila that need to pass by makati to get there. weird but such news if true just displays the sad state of this nation

there are always other means to get somewhere other than through makati.. unless of course the place is IN makati.

e di useless yun experiment nila since yun place na pinaka-marami cars on weekdays (Makati) is excluded from their test.

saan ba nag-aral ng engineering yan si Bayani at di yata alam kung legit ang result ng isang experiment or not!

Pano kung nasa EDSA ka then you have to bypass Makati? Eh di huhulihin ka ng traffic enforcers ng mmda at pulis kasi Makati territory?

To those who will/need to bypass makati:

EDSA, C5 and South Expressway are exempted from Makati's isolation.

I do think the Makati Mayor's logic in wanting to exclude Makati in the meantime since vehicular volume to the ratio of space is quite large in Makati. Well one can always park in Ortigas and take the MRT to Makati if possible. The problem with this is that it may significantly increase the vehicular volume in the surrounding areas due to those who have to bypass Makati... this is what MMDA should work on.

Oh... and they should get rid of those $#%!#%!#$%#%# dilapidated busses along EDSA, they really hold the traffic a lot.

i think MMDA will no longer catch violators in makati... it will just be the makati police and makati traffic enforcers... sana pumayag na rin ang mayor ng makati para hindi hussle... tutal, testing period lang naman... kung palpak, eh di ibalik :twisted:

Well, if this is true then this asnwers your question for those passing through makati. though it may take a longe route for some. :D

testing palang nga ito kaya let us show them (the MMDA) na pwede na huwag ibalik ang UVVRP (color-coding) na ito. cooperation lang naman na galing sa ating mga motorists ang kailangan, diba?

kaya those with cars ending in 1&2 = don't go to work on mondays; those with 3&4 don't go to work on tuesdays; and so on....

hehehe.. ok suggestion mo zero ah!.. ehehe. 4 day work na lang!..yihee!!...:lol:

lets give it a try mga peeps.. testing period nga lnag eh.. ipakita natin na as responsible drivers we could do our own little share in making the traffic manageable.

As for makati.. kahit naman may color coding sobrang siksik na dun sa loob ng makati eh... what more pag tinanggal na... so ok lang yun na leave it.. i just feel sorry for those working there nga lang....

nag-umpisa lang naman ang color-coding nuong araw na under construction ang mga fly-overs at MRT. since gawa na naman itong mga infrastructures na ito, wala na sigurong dahilan para i-implement itong scheme na ito.

mayor kasi si binay at exempted siya sa coding.
maraming sasakyan rin sigurado ang pamilya niya kaya wa epek ang coding sa kanila.
kunyari lang na concern siya sa traffic in makati.
mabuti na lang hindi ako taga-makati.8)

I've hated the color coding scheme since day 1 of its implementation. I hope that after this 3-week experiment, it'll be ditched for good.

Hindi birong mag-invest sa sasakyan, no! Tapos, bigla na lang nilang sasabihin sa akin na hindi ko pwedeng gamitin ng isang araw? Naman!

If only our law enforcers would be true to their titles, tignan natin kung hindi mawala ang mga traffic problems natin!
