I just purchased a pre-selling townhouse and according to the engineer, the size of the parking space is 5.4 meters width x 4.9 meters length with walls on both sides. Any idea if its still spacious getting in or out of the vehicle? Is there enough space to walk around the car without scratching/denting the car? Here's the width of the car:Montero (1815mm width) and altis (1760mm width).

    Thanks in advance

based kasi sa computation ko, still have 2 ft allowance both sides and middle. just not sure lang if included sa size yung side mirror.

A minimum size of parking slot (perpendicular) is 2.5meters (wide) by 5meters (length) as per latest (most current) building code requirement. But keep in mind, that 2.5 was for parking slots meant ideally only for public parking (meaning no walls to each side).

It is a "tight fit" but definitely do-able.

Can you go around both cars? Nope! Hehe! You will most likely park one car close to the right wall and the other to the left wall, so that you would have ample space in the middle as a "walkway" to get in and out of your house to the gate, without needing to drive one of the cars out.

So if one car is already parked inside the house, you'll have to disembark your passengers first outside the house before backing or driving in the gate (depending on which side is sticking to the wall for the car and which slot you are parking into).

NOTE: please keep in mind as well, he mentioned the 5.4m width is "with walls". Therefore, it is not clear width/clearance. You deduct at least 8" thickness on each side or roughly 200mm, assuming plastering goes well and hindi sablay yung hulog/buntis yung paggawa. That leaves you with a max 5meters clear width, not 5.4meters. Hope that helps. Hindi ko din alam kung san napunta ngayon yung lapad ng poste. Pinakain ba nila sa kapal lang ng hollow blocks na may palitada? How about yung poste nung gate mismo?

Thanks a lot. I think best way is to go to the site and measure it by myself to confirm if its 5mt or 5.4mt. by the way, there is no gate sa unit. so basically 3 sides wall lang then open yung entrance

    Got it.

Remember when measuring, measure near floor, middle and around your head (to approximate kung walang reduction sa width). Ideally plumb bob kung asa hulog, or spirit level to check alignment.

Kung clear sana yung 5.4m width, okay na yu, giving you a 2.7m parking slot per vehicle. =)
