because those who previously took public transpo, are now taking to their cars because the former are not available?

is this route you take, full of public utility vehicles before?
baka naman, walang pagbabago dahil hindi naman dinadaanan yan ng PU vehicles, even before?

so your travel time now is about the same as it was, pre-covid?

this includes the more major roads like taft ave, quezon ave, slex, roxas blvd...

Hey we have same routes, kung kilala mo ako, I’d say you’re stalking me.

BTT. There’s already some buses plying Taft, and as expected nagtraffic. Kasi they wait or unload passengers sa third lane. And always right after intersections.

They wont change na yata talaga.

who contributes more to traffic? anyone who has no respect for others...

Bakit nga ba nung 2000s bigla na lang dumami cars and condos?

Up until the 90s hindi sobrang dami cars and condo space is decent pa, yung mga old condos I think nasa 100 sq m siguro ang average? Every time I see a condo being built near us, my heart sinks talaga.

I am NOT against condos pero wag naman yung parang kabute

The building code actually doesn't require 1 is to 1 all the time sa parking ratio for condos/apartments. I needs to be a minimum condo unit/dwelling unit.

50sqm unit or below, ratio is 1 slot for 2 units
Above 50 to 150sqm ratio is 1slot is to 1unit
Above 150sqm ratio id 2 slot for 1 unit

The only thing that makes this stricter is a local zoning ordinance.

Now, as for having more than 1 car, blame color coding 'traffic solution'.

As for the purpose of condos/high density develooments (mixed use). The purpose should have been the limit or remove the need to use a car to cater to the residents needs. Work, study, eat and live are all within walking distance hence, it made sense why you wouldn't need a lot of parking.

Reality though is different. And those who love in condos are not likely the be within walking distance to what caters to daily needs (work, eat and study) defeating the purpose of developing high density in an area where the roads leading in and out of it were not meant to handle the increase in traffic brought about by the development as they were not upgraded.

Or the developments itself were given zoning exemptions, hence defeating the intent of the city planners who painstakingly did study for zoning/land use and street sizesmlane widths.

If the government establishes some form of price control/requirement ala singapore to car purchases, i dont know if it is doable here from an economic standpoint given how weak local manufacturing is, and how dependent circulating cashflow is in trade of services. So it will cripple multiple industries, not just car dealers.

agree ako dito... gone are the days when a family can survive with 1 car lang.

sad part, yung extra car will be used by another family member kapag di sya "coding." hence, a household as 2 cars (or more) on the road instead of just having 1

Malaki binagsak ng interest rates simula nung time na yun kaya a lot of people were able to afford loans.
