    i guess you wont know until you try being a law student.
    it sure is a great oppurtunity & would make any parent glad.
    i dont know if its for me or not but all i know is that i take it one day at a time. im surprised that im still enjoying it till now. but when the time comes that im not enjoying it anymore or need so much effort just to attend my classes, then ill defintely stop.

    maybe your school's guidance counsellor might be a better person to ask this question?

    If it is wht you want, go for it. Just sundin mo kung ano gusto mo para wala regrets. Kung mali man, panindigan mo. At least you don't have others to blame. You seem to be very intelligent naman. Kaya mo iyan kung gusto mo.

    malaking sacrifice ang magpursue ng law. i dont mean to be pessimistic, pero my friend's currently a law student and it requires a LOT of hard work and determination, and not to mention exceptional time management skills. i saw her readings, kalahati na ng height ko... for 1 weekend palang yun!

    Compañera Gretzy, follow your heart and be happy. I agree with pinay, do it for you & not for your parents. I'm sure naman na anything that will make you happy will make them happy as well. Wala namang decision na mali as long as paninindigan mo.

    I also took up law (night school coz I have a daytime job in the bank) for about a year and quit due to some personal dissatisfaction about the course itself. shifted to MBA and finished it.

    the irony of ironies is that here in my present employment (which is a bank), one of the divisions under my responsibility is the legal division hehehe!

    Maybe I can speak from experience.

    If you wish to take up law, you'd better be prepared to:

    1. Miss a lot of social functions and obligations (birthdays, weddings, parties, nights out, beach outings);

    2. Spend your free time (that is, even time you're not supposed to be worrying about school) browsing cases or case digests, if not browsing books;

    3. Be afraid...be very afraid of your professor, especially when recitation comes;

    4. Cut class more often that you're used to (see item 3); and

    5. Gnash your teeth waiting for the results of midterm or final exams.

    :lol Just kidding. If you want to know what it's really like, try reading One L written by Scott Turrow. It describes his life as a law student in Harvard. Its a pretty accurate depiction of what you would be doing as a full-fledged law student.

    HTH!

    sure, your parents will be glad if you pursue law studies but you must have determination to finish it. yung matinding determinasyon talaga ang kailangan dyan. my son almost quit when he was not able to make it in his second sem in San Beda College of Law. but beacause he really want to be a lawyer since he was a cub in san beda, he transfered in Arellano and finished his law studies last sem. law is really for him. sana makapasa sya sa Bar exam this coming september :confused:

    kapag nakapasa, blow-out ko kayo lahat ;) ehehehe....

    gretz, kung hindi ka nag mamadaling yumaman, mag law ka, pero kung gusto mong yumaman agad, think the other way...

    I was d president of the debating team in high school, an orator too, i love to talk! :D

    sabi ng mom ko magtake lang daw ako ng LAE- up law entrance exam. pag pumasa pag-isipan ko daw.

    eto kc possible career path ko:

    nirecommend kc ako ng adviser ko for a 1yr training in Hotel Swiss and another hotel in NY, then ill work sa cruise ship for a year, put-up a business( bar/resto) then take-up MBA in UP or states, then work in a company after that,

    or go backpacking in europe (october kc ako grad next yr), then be back for law school, up law sana.

    dati di ko alam gagawin ko after college tapos biglang andaming offers, nakakalito!

    tinatanong na ko ng mom ko ano daw ba gagawin ko. ang hirap mag-isip.
