ooops, ang daming version pala nun.
yung tungkol sa law student din na gurl na almost nag quit na. pero dahil meron touch mobile ang buong family nya, natapos nya ang law and pumasa pa sa bar exam.
studying law and practicing law...in the Philippines are two worlds apart.
my dad is a lawyer, and my sis is a cpa-lawyer. i refused to follow their professional paths because of how law itself is practiced in our country. for such a black & white profession, too many compromises are made under our present system in my opinion.
i really enjoyed studying it though, sa mga law subjects ko in college...napagka-challenging at stimulating. ibang usapan lang kasi ang actual practice.
in the US, many ordinary folks study law to know their rights and when to sue others for infringing on their rights...hehehe
kung kaya mo isikmura ang sistema natin dito Gretzy, go ahead. it can be an exciting path to follow. suggest you talk to practicing lawyers to get a better idea
nirecommend kc ako ng adviser ko for a 1yr training in Hotel Swiss and another hotel in NY, then ill work sa cruise ship for a year, put-up a business( bar/resto) then take-up MBA in UP or states, then work in a company after that,
i would love to accept this offer kng sa kin inoffer yan.... u can take up law even after 10 years kung di pa talaga kumpleto ang buhay mo ng di ka pa nakakapag-law... sayang, u love to travel di ba?
I'm of gulliver's opinion.
Then there's always the fact that to get around the rules, you have to know what they are to begin with....
Makes me wonder if law school is a breeding ground for you know...

Auto_Xer,
knowing how many Filipinos take pride in being able to make palusot...i wouldn't be surprised. ;)
gretzy,
yes, i finished college 18 years ago you just reminded me how not-so-young i really am young lady...and i'm based in ortigas center. you're probably right about law not being for you, as the legal profession seems contrary to your personality type. law tends to take the "fun" out of people, or let's just say, a lawyers sense of humor or concept of fun is...different (for lack of a better word)...and that's one reason why despite my parents wishes, i chose a different path. ;)
ok, i talked to mom last nyt, ill push thru wid my plans of going out of the country, ok lang sa kanya basta im happy daw plus my sister is very passionate abt law skul. and im a people person, im good in marketing, sayang if i wont work in a related field. im now sure im really not for law, coz i want to enjoy my life.hehehe
im gonna work for mr. wolfpack na, marketing related job. ill conquer the world instead. :D US-France-Italy-Swizerland-Carribean! I cant wait! :D
gretzky,
well, nice to know that you've made up your mind. I've seen a lot of my classmates in law school drop out since in the end, they figured and realized that law was not for them. I know that law school is really hard work and it does tend to eat up a lot of your time, pero law school is also fun believe me. Makes me wonder how I got through law school since there were a lot of nights na inuman na lang kami magbarkada sa law school. Well, I guess in the end, it was my determination and dream that made me finish and graduate.
phillipog,
yes you can make ur Civil engineering degree as your pre-law course, as long as you comply with the other minimum requirements with regards to English Units, Math Units, etc.

Gretzy,
I'm happy for you because you made a decision, and a good one at that. You're already a success, primarily because you know & value what you want and because you have great parents whom you love & respect. May God use you mightily!
