    as the press release mentioned, the money generated from this will be used to finance the SEAG venues. So its almost for sure the permits will be approved. We will just have to wait another weekend for the DOTC to publish it.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, pero I believe DOTC is above the MMDA and LGUs since its part of the executive branch of the gov., tama ba?

    Nope.

    The MMDA is under the Office of the President. The LGUs are independent from DOTC.

    Since the UVVRP is a policy being implemented by the MMDA & LGUs, what right does the DOTC have to "exempt" vehicles from the said scheme (since they are not the ones implementing it - and that these gov't offices does not report directly to the DOTC)?

    The only time that certain plates were exempted, was when the LTO sold the first 50 vanity plates (costing P50K or more) through a bidding. in this case, the LTO got the MMDA's approval to exempt vehicles from the UVVRP scheme.

    Like it was mentioned before, given the government is in need of funds for the SEAG, I think there will be no problem MMDA granting exemption from the UVVRP scheme. Anyway, we can wait until the official memo comes out.

    The DOTC memo was faxed to me but it has no mention if the SEAG plates are exempted from traffic coding. The memo did mention that the plates are legal and official to use.

    Prices are P3500 & P4750

    P3000 = generic
    P4750 = customized five letters/numbers

    expires: JULY 31, 2006
