for some strange reason, many of them just stopped functioning.

while it was functioning, a traffic authority did openly announce that their traffic violation statistics had significantly gone down.

Haha, shadow is 100% right to call that out—how on earth did a thread about traffic camera violations suddenly morph into breaking news about a radio commentator getting ambushed in Las Piñas? Talk about a massive derailment!

But going back to the actual topic: the Supreme Court slapping a TRO on the No Contact Apprehension Program (NCAP) was bound to happen. Dr.Kamiya nailed the real problem beautifully. Most of us aren't against using technology to clean up the crazy driving habits in Metro Manila, but that 70-30 revenue split in favor of a private PPP contractor is absolutely scandalous.

When a private company gets a massive gross percentage of every single traffic fine, the entire system stops being about public safety and completely transforms into a corporate cash grab. It literally incentivizes the system to trap motorists. It's like what dr. d said—suddenly the digital countdown timers on traffic lights miraculously stop working right when NCAP rolls out? That is incredibly shady.

If the LGUs actually wanted to make the roads safer instead of just acting like buwayas (crocodiles) trying to enrich private entities, they would buy the camera tech outright, fix the faded, overlapping lane markings that BratPAQ mentioned, and run it transparently. Forcing people to take massive detours through secondary roads just to avoid predatory camera traps is proof enough that the implementation was a total mess. Hopefully, the high court keeps this suspension locked down tightly until the whole private-contractor racket is completely stripped out of the program.

₱500 na lang daw ang coding violation pag nilabas na yung unified ticketing. It seems cheaper than using grab or taxi on your coding day. That is if that ₱500 ticket is for the whole day?

Hindi ba 500 every huli yan? So 500 sa manila then pagtawid ng buendia 500 uli sa makati?

Kung unified na, technically, dapat kung nahuli ka na for "violation A (coding)", di ka na pwede hulihin ulit for the same violation on the same day right? nahuli ka na e.

Tsaka buti na din para mawala na yung country of Makati borders sana. Pero tingin ko may mga pasikot sikot na conditional yang unified ticketing pa din. Same ticketing system pero each and every cities local ordinnance na "applicable violations" will apply, but just using the unified ticketing system din. Unless tatanggalin na nila right of the cities to impose local ordinances for traffic para di din labo labo na.

Same nA amount ng violations across LGUs. But for me dapat pwede ka ulit mahuli ng coding if tumawid ka sa ibang city. So walang palusot sa coding.

A P500 fine that is repeatable without repercussions is more like a cost of doing business

No need to buy another car, just budget 2000 a month on fines. Many pay more for their parking slot than that

Isn't that how it's always worked? Just hang on to the ticket and if mahuli ka ulit for coding on the same day just show it and they won't ticket you again.

I agree parang congestion charge lang sya. If I'm coding and really need to go I just take the car anyway and bahala na if mahuli. A lot of the time you won't even get caught if you're familiar with where enforcers hang out.

I agree with this. Palusot din ang coding cars. Kung bawal palusot Dapat isang owner isang araw lang lahat ng sasakyan, since the owner is still occupying one car space sa road. [emoji16]

Yes impound also no more coding cars. Tuloy nila yung one coding day para sa isang owner. Luluwag talaga kalsada wala na palusot.

I think it will really depend on the "framing" of the ticket/Notice of Violation. If it is still localized per city, then yes. I believe every "boundary" you cross will mean another issuance of ticket. But if they are further simplifying the ticketing to be under umbrella of MMC jurisdiction as a whole, then it might be one per day or per time window when there is coding imposed, so one ticket for morning, another for the afternoon/evening period.

Wala pa official documentation na pinapakita sa IRR or ordinance nito right? So hindi pa mapareview for legal opinions. hehe. We can only guess right now

This is more logical and reasonable. One violation ticket per coding window violation. This is also consistent with the feedback of the Top Gear person above

I for one am loving it. Keeps the motorcyclists in their own lane. Also managed to drive faster with no rider trying to slalom and squeeze around me.

Kitams... The NCAP is a net-positive. Yung mga kamote-on-the-fence, tumitino. Yung mga hardcore kamote (ie. obstructed/missing reg. plates) are coming out of the woodwork!
