February 4th, 2003 01:49 PM #1Need to have some membership for my 98 Vanette and 98 Lancer for a car club. Dont want to actually have to use their services, but I'll never know till I meet some problems on the road.
Maganda rin siguro yung mga may discounts sa mga auto shops and other establishments.
Any recommendation guys? My area is south Manila.

February 4th, 2003 11:24 PM #6Automotive Association of the Phils. (AAP)
na ngayon ang bagong pangalan ng Phil.
Motor Association (PMA). OKs yan. For
P600, you can get towing for two cars,
free LTO registration services, free vehicle
ID number etching and you can avail of mechanical
services at their shop in Broadway.
Yung MAC naman, may towing tapos free battery charging
o kaya minor repairs when you get stranded on the road due
to mechanical or electrical failure. Memberako nito ngayon
pero I don't get to see any of their tow trucks on the road though
di tulad ng AAP na madalas akong makakita... yung membership
sa MAC is only good for one car.
Kaya value for money yang membership sa AAP. Yung Direct Link
Insurance, pag nagpa-compre coverage ka doon, may libre ka
nang membership sa AAP.
It is always wise and prudent to get a membership sa towing.
You'll never know what might happen to you on the road.
Napaka stressful pa naman ang matirik sa gitna ng daan, di ba?

AAP. You can request a tow 24/7 or a trailer flatbed (which you have to schedule first). You pay their fee and you get 2 cars listed for their services. It's good for one year.
FYI: If you're riding an A/T, request for a flatbed. Towing it will kill you gears. For manual it's ok unless the road is bad.
BTW, here's the number: (02) 726-0191 - tow service (02) 723-0808 - Main Office
They'll mail you an application form in a week's time and you get you ID a week after. Great service.

February 19th, 2003 03:03 PM #10Got the AAP membership already!Asidefromwhat's already said, meron pang kasamang personal insurance worth P100T for the member. Pang-dagdag din yun, if whenever (knock on wood!) something happens.
Pina-etch ko na rin yung mga kotse right after.
Kwento ng katrabaho ko, meron daw sya officemate dati na Italiano na tinanong daw bakit...
