Some cities have passed their own ordinances authorizing their enforcers to confiscate licenses, like Pasay City, for example.

If this is true, then they are just proliferating corruption and encouraging TEs to apprehend even non-violators. It should be repelled.

    4. MMDA has confirmed that your license MAY NOT BE CONFISCATED
at a traffic apprehension. The only time they can do so is if you are part of an accident, or it is your third violation and you have not settled your fines yet. They are only allowed to give you a ticket, which you can contest. He recommends actually receiving the ticket in some instances, so that you can report the officer who did it.

Thank you for this information. I am going to print and put the info in my pocket to show the MMDA when i drive to manila another time.

Thanks for sharing this! 🙏 It’s really helpful, especially for those of us who often drive around the city and sometimes deal with inconsistent enforcement from MMDA officers.

Just a quick note though — while this information is useful, some parts of that email have been circulating online for years and might be outdated or unofficial. It’s always best to double-check directly with the MMDA hotline (136) or their verified Facebook page before using it as reference during an apprehension.

Still, it’s great advice to know your rights, stay calm, and record interactions politely if something feels off. Appreciate you sharing this reminder, especially this Christmas season when traffic and stress levels are high. 🚗🎄

Pinakamagandang proteksyon against these abusive MMDAs is to follow/obey traffic rules and regulations. Mas ganado kasi akong kuwestyunin ang panghuhuli nila pag nasa lugar ako.

Also, download and print LTO's and MMDA's list of traffic violations and penalties. I keep a copy in my ride. He he he.\

Hep, you must be a Physician b4 installing 1. Baka mapasubo ka pag may roadside medical emergency.

Lastly, always keep in your wallet the calling cards given by, eherm..., friends.

    Drive safely bros !

    I'm glad.

    a. Manghuli ng traffic offenders(DIUMANO)?

    b. Mang-delay ng mga motorista?

    c. Magkwentuhan sa daan?

    d. Dekorasyon lang sa daan?

    e. All of the above

    Answer please....

i hope someone can help me or give me advice. it's about a questionable reckless driving offense, MMDA taking my license and possible 'kutongan' caught on video.
