I think this is more of security ng establishment, kasi as what others said, deterent ito sa pag labas. Isipin mo kung mga holdaper yun, mahirapan sila makatakas ng mabilis kung mag back-up pa sila before makalabas. Isip ko din na daming way out mga holdaper sa area na yun at mabilis pa dahil maluwag mga kalye, madaling makatakas.

Your tail lights are more visible to drivers from afar than your head behind the windshield.

Try it dude. stand around 50 meters away from a car parked nose first and another parked rear first. do you see the tail lights or the windshield first?

That's what they also teach at drivers ed in the states.

ang drawback lang ng park facin the wall ay kung may emergency at kailangan mo agad makalabas, mas mahihirapan ka. ako tigas ulo ko kahit may nakasulat na park facing the wall, i still park rear end first

One more advantage of parking facing the wall: The distance of the wheel stopper (i.e., the concrete bar stopping your wheels, usually painted yellow or striped yellow-block) from the wall assumes that you are parked facing the wall, since most cars have very short overhangs in front (i.e., the distance from the front of your car to the front wheel). However, many larger vehicles - especially large SUVs - have long overhangs in the rear. You try parking backwards in a parking slot with a large car and you risk hitting the wall with your rear bumper long before the wheel stopper makes contact with your rear wheels.

If I may add, parking facing the wall takes less time than to park it in reverse. Thus, if you have cars waiting behind, they don't have to wait very long for you to park. This is very much true here. It would only take them 2 seconds to park a car facing the wall than take 20 seconds to park in reverse.

We should be considerate of others who are waiting behind you.

I might sound stupid pero first time na nabasa ko yung title ng thread is: Fart facing wall Hehehe! Gulat ako dun a!

Anyway, I usually park backwards mas madali nga pag ganun.Yung sa mga mall parkings, most probably para hindi madumihan yung walls, yung malapit sa kainan, para lang wag pumasok sa loob yung usok, makes sense.

that's true for small vehicles in not too narrow parking slots. try it with SUVs in narrow parking slots, it will be faster parking in reverse.

Yes, you're probably right specially the cramped parkings at the mall. Goes to show that Manila ain't too SUV friendly.

My point being, do it whatever is the fastest way in so that you won't be a hindrance to others.

ot: he he ako baligtad e! nasanay ako at first ng parking facing the wall kasi masikip sa garage namin kaya ganun na habit ko sa pag-park, nung mejo nasanay na ako mag-reverse then dun na ako nagre-reverse park.

mas madali daw ang reverse parking pero naging baligtad na sa akin ang difficulty between "paharap" and yung reverse parking style!! pero the best ang diagonal super dali!!! i hate parallel park - muntik na akong makasagi ng other tsikot, super liit lang kasi ng spacing (binondo - hk style!!)

ang hirap i-park yung hilux namin. took me almost 5 minutes and numerous atras-abante. i was already parked with the rear facing the wall but the guard scolded me, i even told him it was very hard park facing the wall because it was very long.
