When this memo got out the first time, may 100K penalty sa dealer ng new car if mahuling traveling without OR/CR. So binanggit ko ito sa dealer ko since 1.5 months na yung car ko and wala pang ORCR. I told my agent na pasensya na if mahuli ako w/o ORCR since eto lang ang van ko and I always use this whenever I go to Metro Manila. I'm not sure if coincidence or natakot sila, but the following monday, meron na akong ORCR.

Hubby called at mailalabas na daw yung gift nya sa akin. Kaka order ko pa lang ng customed made matting at sana nga ma release na today ang unit ko.
Natatawa na lang ako dahil sakto din pag akyat ko sa baguio. Now I wonder kung pwede ko na ba i byahe ng ganun kalayo si monty.

So kust to clarify, once na-takeout na yung unit, you'll have JUST a week to use it then tengga ng ilang months pag wala pa yung OR/CR? tama ba pagkaka-intindi ko dito sa policy na to? LTO lang ba pwedeng humuli or pati MMDA? Thanks!

Ang alam ko paps they no longer honor the 7 day period.. you're only allowed to bring home your unit pagkakuha sa dealer.. then wait for a few weeks for your OR/CR..

Yes paps.. na tengga din unit namin for more than 2 weeks then on the 3rd week we got our OR/CR. Pag na tyempohan kasi sir that's 10k pesos penalty for using an unregistered vehicle..

I was expecting na ma flag down ako just when I started using my unit again when I got the registration papers. Pero so far mga paps wala pang nag flaflag down sa akin. I think madalas nilang sitahin is vios/accent dahil sa Uber and grab..

Pero ang new update paps is effective June 1, 2017 pa yung format plates for units bought feb 15 onwards. Pero strictly NO OR/CR, NO TRAVEL pa din sila paps.

Based on previous experience, I want to have as little to do with LTO as possible. This is why I allow dealers to process my registration for new cars, and AAP for my older cars. I doubt their procedures have changed, but the LTO has. So I'm pinning most of the problems more on LTO.

Last week, my sales agent briefed me that the waiting time for the OR/CR and/or plates is four weeks, but I get to drive it around for a week. I signed a waiver that if I get caught, I would have to pay for both my fine as well as the dealer's. So if I get a call from the dealer before the four weeks is over, then hallelujah. If not, then I'll make kulit then raise hell.

BTW, until I got my last car in 2012, I could specify the last number on the plate. Ngayon daw, di na pwede. BUT, if the plate arrives and you simply must have another last number, you can return it and pay P3,000 to have it changed daw. Tutoo ba ito?
