Pasingit lang po ng konti. Gaano kaya katagal bago makuha ang official plates from LTO?

Meron kasing And interesting conspiracy theory si James Deakin sa FB niya, regarding the LTO's No ORCR, No Travel Policy :
"I'm no conspiracy theorist, but bear with me here. I've been getting reports that the vehicle excise tax will be railroaded and implemented much earlier than the proposed initial date of 2018. Some have even hinted at April of this year.

Earlier this month, the LTO suddenly enacted an absolutely ridiculous and indefensible no plate/ no travel for new cars based on an OR/CR that they themselves cannot comply with--which means there's no way they can enforce this long term. But it may just buy enough time to stall new car sales. Or more importantly, enough time to prevent a surge of new car sales before the new tax comes in.

I could be completely wrong of course. Like I said, it's just a theory. Either way."

    Kinda makes sense rin no?

Yeah, could be bro...last dec 2016 when i was searching for a new car one SA told me to get the car at the earliest of 2017 or else baka tamaan ako ng excise tax na yan. akala ko sales talk lang but then again now its happening. luckily i got mine last month but still i could escape the no or/cr no travel na ito even til now wala pa rin.

    Cars will always be sold.
the windfall this new tax promises from the slowdown in sales at this point, is very small compared to the much, much larger amount that the new tax will earn the government thru the years.
"it is not worth the trouble", if you ask me.

Noong 2014 hindi pa masyado problema ang ORCR and license plates. The plate and sticker troubles began in 2015 if I'm not mistaken. Ako rin kasi in 2014, I bought two cars, one Toyota and one Honda, both of them within 1 week, meron na OR CR. Within one month, meron na plaka pareho. Yung isa pa dun special plate 3 letters 3 numbers. Haaaaaay, ang sarap magmuni muni tungkol sa good old days. :p Ngayon parang distant memory na siya, yung feeling mo ngayon pag nakakuha ka na ng Plaka, para kang nanalo ng swipistiks, tunay na pinagpala.

Anyway, my latest purchase was a Ford Everest delivered Feb 15, 2017 one day before the LTO memo. Swerte no? Wala pa daw sabi ni SA. Two weeks na bukas.

I wonder gaano katagal or/cr ng mga motorcycles. LTO has to process 100,000+ mcs monthly.

Don't be discouraged from getting that dream car of yours sir. Onting tiis lang naman yan, just think that it'll be worth the wait.

if only consumers can stop buying cars, even for a week, then the dealers and car companies will be forced to address this issue with the lto.

otherwise its business as usual for everyone and consumers are left vulnerable.

on the other hand how can the police apprehend and inspect the cr or of all the new cars on the road. realistically, its unenforceable also with the volume of new cars on the road today.

Mas safe pa pala kung car nabili mo, mas madalas mag check against motorcycles gawa na rin siguro ng riding in tandem.

June 2015 bought my Subaru WRX STI and got the OR/CR after a week but until now, wala pa din yung plaka.

December 2016 bought a Toyota FJ Cruiser at Toyota Alabang and until now wala pa yung CSR at OR/CR. I regret buying from Toyota not because of the car but because of the dealership.
