No PLATE No TRAVEL Policy?

When i called a friend from our local LTO ang sabi matagal na raw naman na in effect ang no plate no travel policy ng LTO. When i ask further how i can check if my vehicle has been registered already he said that unless i was issued an OR from LTO there is no way they can check if a new vehicle has been registered already or not. I guess LTO is just not strictly enforcing this no plate no travel policy because of the lobbying of vehicle importers and probably because they know that the problem exist. Having said that however, the consumer is the one suffering. .. kaya ako im just following up na lang lagi sa SA ko.

OR/CR lang ba to sir o plates na yung nakuha mo sa 9 mos.?

Nauna yung plates. Yung stickers after 1 month after pa kasabay yung or/cr

but it was during the late general angie reyes' time, that it figured prominently in its implementation.
then, for some reason known only to practically everyone, there was a memo released, suspending the said policy "indefinitely". my SA even gave me a xerox copy of the memo.
several months ago, there was a well-documented announcement (over the radio, no less!) that the no plate, no travel policy would be re-implemented. but strangely, no such re-implementation ensued.
recently, another announcement for its re-implementation was released. someone (from cebu?) even said, they will start nov. 10.
so is it true? i do not know... but my conduction-sticker-plated wigo will probably remain at home, until we get more definite news.. or until i get my new plates.

Instead of us enjoying our new ride. I for instance have a conduction-sticker-plated Innova who will be used for a wedding ceremony this coming December will remain at home, also our Pangasinan trip next week.. arghh!!

Last night I had a brief chat with a LTO NCR Regional officer. Nov 16 daw dapat ang implementation but still undecided pa daw si PNoy. And based on his statements, divided pa din sila on whether to implement it or not. Although claim talaga nya na streamlined na ang process nila and fault talaga ng mga dealers ang delay. Well, siguro since official sya yung reports sa kanila ng mga nasa ibaba nila e whitewashed na kaya di nila nakikita yung actual scenario. I dunno. Pero sa akin kasi nabuking ko na dealer ko talaga ang may fault talaga ng delay ng registration ko at pwede ko daw demanda yung dealer because of that or demand for a replacement of a new unit. Pwede siguro sa kanya yun since official sya or kung may kakilalang very good lawyer. Hahaha!

Di lang nya ko nasagot ng maayos when I said na tayong end-users ang naabala sa ganyang policy.

Also OR/CRs and Plates are supposed to be given simultaneously daw dapat at ang gusto talaga nilang i-push is the No Plate, No travel policy.

Yang nga multiple invoices, basang-basa na sa kanila yan so delikado gamiting alibi. Kaya ako, park muna sasakyan habang wala pa yung papers. Mahirap na. I just hope na wag na muna nila implement yang policy na yan.

sarap sana nang ganun, sir, na yun ang isasagot natin kay dealer (or bank)... but generally, afaik, 3 missed payments hahatakin na ng bank ang loaned vehicle.

Bro your loan obligation is with the bank and not with the casa. You cannot use that alibi of not being able to use your car to default on your mortgage payment. The dealer couldn't care less if you default on your payment since they have been paid full already by the bank when you got your vehicle. Same goes with our friendly SA's... they couldn't care less also because in most probability they got their commission already from the sale of your new car. The saddest part still is... if the bank reposses your vehicle because of default on your obligation... you end up with a bad credit record and it would be hard (if not impossible) for you to purchase a new vehicle via financing.
