Just kidding. :D I need the A-pillars for my 3-ways.
yeah, yung mga naka 3-way audio set-ups na nasa line of sight yung mid-range at tweeters

then isama na rin nila yung mga may sabit na rosaryo at air freshener, tuyong bulaklak ng sampagita, box ng tissue, miniature toys like yung mga 7 dwarfs at iba pa na burloloys sa dashboard. hilig ng pinoy yan eh

Another money making for traffic enforcers. imagine the penalty cost. It will surely attract others for under the table settlement 😁

In the case of dash cams it is impossible doc. Of course it has to peek through the windshield to record anything. And enforcers can argue it is part of your line of sight because it is.

Another gadget that will most likely draw attention is heads up display. Bet enforcers don't even know what it is.

Hmmmm ... Based on the definitions in section 3, dash cams are not "Mobile communications devices", nor "Electronic entertainment and computing device". So IMHO, they are not covered by the law.

Ok let's say they have the public's best interest at stake... But for ill-prepared enforces and poorly informed public isn't the 5,000 pesos 1st offense penalty a little bit too much? ₱500 would have been reasonable

I think Deakin's business of dashcams will be compromised na dito.

btw, line of sight is the entire windshield area, kasi syempre tingen ka sa pinakakanan kung meron pedestrian o patawid o galing sa perpendicular roads, so malamang kahit ano gadget na may screen na nakakabit dyan hule. pati Uber and Grab hule!

This is payback time ladies and gents. for Uber and Grab maybe they should just buy yun mga permanently installed HUs sa dashboard kung meron na ganun technology

yun mga nag-racing na may mga nakakabit sa windshield na electronic gauges sigurado huli din yan

the law is really simple. wag nyo na pakumplikahin pa. if you want dashcams better install on the bumper like the backup rear camera na lang. dapat naman talaga dashcams blackbox style hinde iyun ginagawang citizen arrest kuno pero wala naman naaresto, ini-upload lang sa facebook. so pinoy, all bluff.

btw, kung nanghihinayang kayo sa dashcams why not improvise yun ginagawa ng mga motor nakakabit sa helmet, so hiramin nyo na lang headband ng gf or sister or wife nyo tapos dun nyo i-mount yun dashcam nyo

I suggest you print a copy of Republic Act 10913. I have attached the link below. It pays to have in your hand the extent of the law to bash any misinterpretations.

Below is stated what comprises distracted driving. The use of dashcams is not within such extents. Dashcams are hands-free devices, they are not mobile communication devices nor an electronic entertainment/computing device.

Sec. 4. Distracted Driving. — Subject to the qualifications
in Sections 5 and 6 of this Act, distracted driving refers to the
performance by a motorist of any of the following acts in a
motor vehicle in motion or temporarily stopped at a red light,
whether diplomatic, public or private, which are hereby declared
    unlawful;
    (a) Using a mobile communications device to write, send,
or read a text-based communication or to make or receive calls,
    and other similar acts; and
    (b) Using an electronic entertainment or computing device
to play games, watch movies, surf the internet, compose
messages, read e-books, perform calculations, and other similar
    acts.
Sec. 5. Extent of Coverage. — (a) The operation of a
mobile communications device is not considered to be distracted
driving if done using the aid of a hands-free function or
similar device such as, but not limited to, a speaker phone,
earphones and microphones or other similar devices which
allow a person to make and receive calls without having to
hold the mobile communications device: Provided, That the
placement of the mobile communications device or the
hands-free device does not interfere with the line of sight of
    the driver.

TO: ADMIN - KINDLY DELETE AS THERE'S A PREVIOUS SIMILAR THREAD. - THANKS.

    Just a moment...

The Anti-Distracted Driving Act that became a law last August 1, 2016 will now be enforced starting May 18, 2017.

Any driver caught using a cellphone while he/she is in the driver’s seat will be apprehended and fined. This includes using the phone even if the car is not moving while on a stop light or in a middle of a heavy traffic (incidentally, just this afternoon, a MAPSA officer warned us about this violation and stated it is already in effect in Makati, though we corrected him that it should be May 18).
    Here are the fines:

    1st offense: Php5,000 fine

    2nd offense: Php10,000 fine

3rd offense: Php15,000 fine + 3 months suspension of license

    4th offense: Php20,000 fine + revocation of driver’s license

There are also exemptions to this rule as stated here.
