Where exactly are the speed traps? 100kph is fine for areas of traffic but not for the stretch from Bocaue North.

ey guys, passed by nlex yesterday.. was going around 110 para safe, pero ang raming bus at fx na mas mabilis ang takbo. didn't see anyone getting caught at the tollway. gumagana ba talaga yung mga speed trap? san ba makikita yung mga camera, wala akong napansin na cam.
Instead of just ranting about it, why don't you guys send your comments to the Manila North Tollways Corp. Their email address is administrator*mntc.com and their web site is at www.mntc.com
Yes, I agree that 100 kph is too slow, and I have also had to pull over once on one of the emergency shoulders because going at that speed from one end of the tollway to another made me sleepy, but unless they legally raise the speed limit, or unless someone tells us exactly where the speed traps are, then I'm not risking a traffic citation and a compulsory seminar.
hi,
are these speed traps still active? about 3weeks ago i noticed a mntc hilux parked on a bridge/overpass overlooking the manila bound side, it was about 2kms before the tollgates. is this one of those radar equipped patrols.
what do they exactly do to you when they cite you for overspeeding, a warning? since they do not have signs or advices that overspeeding above 100kph is punishable by xxxxx. unlike the slex they warn you that speed is being radar monitored along with the corresponding penalty for overspeeding.
I don't think these are speed traps. Notice that you'll see most of it close to emergency parking and call booths. I think they use these cameras to monitor the whole stretch of NLEX in case of accidents and emergencies.
if you'll observe the highway... there's a a horizontal tar strip situated adjacent to the camera. ian_rex's cousin (who works with an NLEX contractor) said that the speed traps are imbedded in the highway.Originally Posted by wax
and also, the MNTC also monitors the average speed of cars on each lane.
napansin ko din yang MNTC Patrol sa taas ng overpass. i was travelling at 110kph (and with my bigger tires, the actual speed might be more than 120kph). akala ko mahuhuli na ako. pero hindi naman. i think have an EC Tag might help a little. you won't have to pass through a booth with a teller that can see your plate number.

here's the pix of the NLEX Speed Trap.
the camera is mounted on the pole (located after the concrete structure). I guess that it'll take the picture of your rear license plate number.

the picture looks like its near the petron tabang area, manila bound, since i count 4 lanes.
do you think its correct to assume those pole mounted cameras are also near the locations of the emergency parkings or telephone booths? for technical convinience and security of the equipments.
going to subic tommorrow, pag masdan ko mabuti. not that i will try to beat these cameras. 80-90kph lang ako pag corolla gamit, to conserve gas. but iba na pag naka dmax or maybe pag gabi. snikt sneak snikt.

just after yan ng meycauayan exit.
oo nga pala... yung mga cameras laging may parang small building sa tabi, kung wala naman nasa kabilang side ng highway... di ko nga sure kung anong laman nun
sana gawin nalang nila yung speed limit sa second to the left lane tpos yung left lane walang limit ala autobhan
I was in the NLEX last Sunday, from Balintawak to Pulilan and vice versa. I was trying to locate the cameras and speed traps pero hindi ko nakita. What I observed were the speeding cars overtaking me when I was running at 120-130 kph.
madami speeding dun. ako lang guilty. mabagal talaga ang 100. yung speed trap meron sa bocaue barrier. hindi sila ganun kadami,
100 kph can be a bit slow pero for that speed, it is considered a "safe speed".
Siguro kung 110 o 120 kph ang MAX na gawin nila with the 100 as the "recommended safe speed". Any car going 130 kph or above is caught.
My two cents.
I agree. If you want to travel at high speed then build your own highway. Tandaan hindi lang kayo ang gumagamit ng daan.Originally Posted by Blackraven
