agree!!! i admit, i sometimes exceed sa speedlimit kapag naiinis ako sa sinusundan ko. nakaka-init kasi ng ulo yung uneducated drivers na babad sa left lane running below 80kph! dami namang signs and reminders (even radio commercials!!!). I dont know bakit di makaintindi!

They should either increase the speed limit or lower the price by half. For Pete's sake, their toll is worth twice of how fast you're allowed to run!

What we need is an infinite speed limit... Kahit isang lane lang or isang section ng NLEX.. Ganda siguro tignan kapag yun infinite loop yung nakasulat dun sa speed limit post.

Well, we have to consider the quality of the vehicles here in the Philippines as well. Unless you are really a car enthusiast, most of the vehicles here dont have periodic maintenance and many use old/bogus/inferior parts.

It is dangerous for many vehicles (Jeepneys, Owner-types) which may not have been properly assembled (AUVs) or modified (small cars with V6 engines but still with stock brakes) to travel at high speeds... Many cheaper tires and other auto supplies enter the country which would have been banned in first world countries.

Also, our emergency response teams arent that well funded yet. Kaya in the US, if high-speed accidents happen, they have systems which remedy the situation kaagad. Dito, it can take hours just to clear up the road.

Kaya I think sa atin, even if the NLEX roads are very good, I think, such speed limits can be considered for the general safety of the majority.

sa states daw naman ganyan lang din ang speed limit... max na ata ang 60-70mph dba? ang pagkakaalam ko talaga anywhere in the world except yung mga walang limit nasa 100kph lang ata talaga ang max eh

yup, meron kasi silang rule na "Go with the flow". Taka rin ako dati bakit 70mph na takbo namin eh kung lagpas lagpasan kami ng katabi namin. ok lang sa kanila lumagpas ng +10mph as long as you driving smoothly. hinuhuli lang yata yung lipat lipat ng lanes saka yung speed e talagang very obvious na overspeeding.

i beg to disagree po. 65mph lang ang speed limit sa states but people are "allowed" to cruise at around 70mph. i was once driving sa freeway (I-10 i think) and i didn't notice na 85mph na ang takbo ko. i saw a CHP car on the shoulder lane with the officer looking at me. after around 1 or 2 mins. nasa likod ko na yung patrol car tailing me. but i slowed down to around 65 mph naman and maintained my speed so he just ignored me and went on his merry way. hehehe

There are imbedded and fixed speed traps along the stretch of the NLEX. Once you "trigger" the said traps, a camera (placed around 40 ft overhead) will take your license plate numbers.
So that's what they're installing in the wee hours of the morning a couple of weeks ago. We saw NLEX engineers installing something some weeks back on our way to the airport for my flight.

Is there a way to contact or send our sentiments to the NLEX people?

Seriously, 100kph is too slow and can even be dangerous and tiring since you'll have to concentrate more to maintain that speed... articles have been written about this in the US before. Personally the 120kph range is quite acceptable; when i "go with the flow" this is the usual speed range (100-120kph).

Or maybe they can implement the 100kph rule in congested portions like the Bulacan - Manila area then raise it to 120 at the open areas (Pampanga area).

Baka ganun din ang patakaran ng MNTC. Yung kasabay kong adventure e baka sobrang tulin lang. ako di ko alam since matagal na huling drive ko sa NLEX. btw, i was driving at 100-130 kph from SF to manila but in cruising mode(i.e. less changing lanes, madalas sa kanan lang, etc.)

I think 100kph is okay lang kasi 'yon ang crusing speed ng XUvi ko, hehehe Nakakatakot na if I go beyond 120kph with my ride.
Pero kung kotse ang dala ko, 100kph is way too slow.

    OT:
Sa CA ang max speed sa interstate hiway is 70mph. OR is also 70mph, but AZ is 75mph. I think depende sa states 'yong max speed. Pero 75mph na talaga 'yong fastest.
CA state does implement air patrol on their interstates.

Yes you can go with the flow, in fact hinuhuli dun ang slow drivers kung mabibibilis ang flow. If you want to go on high speed 75+mph, you can stick to the left lane para di masyadong obvious.
