Yeah... one sure way to fall asleep is to try driving at 80-100kph on a wide open NLEX and SCTEX. :Needsleeep:
I rember before that NLEX Toll fees seemed so high when they first implemented it as back then, the P200+ charge from end to end seemed so wow... now it's much cheaper as compared to SLEX and CAVITEX if you look at the distance travelled.
Yeah, Cavitex would be pricey as constructing it on water and swamplands carries a hefty price tag just as well.
Sa liit na CAVITEX e ok nga lang yun pero sa NLEX, hay isipin pa lang inaantok na ako!hehehe
I'll be going to Zambales tomorrow, so I'll be passing both NLEX and SCTEX.
How're the speed radars along these highways? Any tips on how to avoid getting tagged in case I go above the speed limit?
I don't have a radar sensor so I'll have to rely on my eyes alone. I'd appreciate if you could point out where the white pickups usually hang out![]()
Pwede ka naman magpatakbo hanggang 120 sa SCTEX pero wag masyado. Tsaka about 3 weeks ago eh medyo ginagawa ilang portions ng SCTEX papuntang Subic. Basta don't go beyond 120 para safe ka. Sa NLEX naman, same lang din.
Macapagal isnt much of an issue because you can spot them when you enter the section of road they are monitoring. They have a range of less than 500meters and they are probably monitoring the middle lanes. It will take them time to adjust to scan the left most lane because the laser speed gun has to be tripod mounted to be accurate and not give false speed measurements. The only reason why they can catch of lot of so-called speeders is the ridiculously low speed limit of 60 kph. If the limit was at 100kph, they wouldn't have the time to monitor more than one lane of road.
Good one, jut.
Last time I passed SCTEX there were three cars tagged. All CRDi's, glad I'm driving something large enough that day that kept me from staying under 120kph. Would have been a bad day for me if I was driving something more stable. :bwahaha:
Wala akong kasabay sa SCTEX eh. Guess no one was in the mood. Fastest was an E-Class doing about 140.
Sa NLEX though, there was this convoy of a GS, Innova G D4D, and Fort V na feeling ko pulitiko. Naka-hazard lights all the way at kung makaswerve akala mo kanila yung buong NLEX eh, pati shoulder hindi sinasanto para umovertake.

Thanks. Try ko nalang magstay below 120 kung kaya. And agahan ko nalang umalis
Last SLEX ko though, 140-160 wala naman nanghuhuli. Came from Fuego via Sta. Rosa. But I think they're more stringent up north.
Many months ago I encountered a speed radar operator hiding in the middle grassy area along NLEX. He was sitting between the metal crash barriers so can barely see him until you are almost there beside him. The only reason I spotted him ahead of time was the radar alert I got from my V1. Even then, the operator was kinda crafty, keeping the radar OFF until the last few seconds to measure the passing car's speed.
gh, kamusta na laser jammer mo?
