NLEX, SCTEX, Over-Speeding, Speed-Radar [MERGED Threads]

One time, nagulat na lang ako ng may nakita akong tao sa ilalim ng isang tulay sa NLEX. Parang sniper na may dalang bazooka!

Hindi lang pala nakapatrol ang nag-che-check ng speed, tao-tao na rin,ngayon at walang patrol sa paligid.

Nagulat na lang ako kasi un-expected, nasa close distance na lang sya ng napansin ko. Buti na lang at nasa around 110kph lang ang speed ko nun.

Hahaha. Nagulat din ako diyan, I was running ~140kph when I saw them... tapos nung nag-toll ako, akala ko huhulihin ako. Hindi naman pala. Siguro wala lang silang hawak na speed gun nuon [swerte!]

Kaya from then, kahit gaano ako kabilis sa expressway basta may ganyan na overpass... slow down ako to 90-100kph. Then after, banat ulit.

Yup, I got a surprise by that too few months ago. I guess they found out that speeders were looking out for the telltale white vehicle parked on the side of the road.

They probably weren't catching as many anymore, so they decided to change strategies.

Had a friend before. Along NLEX, he was travelling southbound going to Manila. Hataw siya. Though he had a feeling he got caught by the radar gun, so he stopped by Petron, put on a commemorative license plate in front and took the EZ Pass lane. True enough cops were out for him, but having a different plate and a relatively less unique car threw the LEOs off.

^And the time spent to stop at the gas station, wait, and put on the plate just pretty much got rid of the good time made by driving at a high speed.

I guess he figured he was on the list if he was caught speeding with his pants down (going well over 120kph and he's the only car passing the radar at that time or he was well faster then the cars he was running along with).

I think he saw a relatively well hidden patrol vehicle.

Dapat mas mataas ang limit sa mga bagong kotse, kagaya ng 120-140kph, 3-5yrs old na kotse!

big no no naman sir dito di po porket bago kotse eh pwede na.(dapat pantay pantay po dapat tayo).
kahit lumang sasakyan na 15y.o kayang kaya umabot ng 150km/h marami akong nakikita na bagong kotse na tumitirik.

Sino po ba ang titicketan yung driver or yung kotse? Alin po ba ang kukumpiskahin, yung lisensya o yung plaka? Ü

Pag ayaw mo bigay lisensya mo, tatanggalin nila plaka mo.

Mababa talaga yung 100kph! Kaya luxury na lang talaga ang mga performance car o yung tag 3M pataas. Hindi na rin magagamit lalo na pag long drive.

In case of SCTEX, I think 100kph is too slow and it very easy to fall asleep. Na experienced ko na yan minsan. Bigla na lang ako inantok on my way back to Manila. Nagising na lang ako running on the shoulder. During that time, there was almost no traffic..

But in case of Cavitex, 100kph is just enough. Driving more than that is quite risky. I noticed the road banking(Cavite bound curve) of the hi-way is not right and the road surface is not smooth.

But in case of Cavitex, 100kph is just enough. Driving more than that is quite risky. I noticed the road banking(Cavite bound curve) of the hi-way is not right and the road surface is not smooth.

The difference is not the quality of the road but more of the length of the highway. Cavitex is only a short length so falling asleep is not as big of a problem as the sheer length of the SCTEX.
