I am registering a 2011 model car this april. Just have a few questions

- since they will be issuing a new format of plate, do i have to go sa mother file where it was registered?

i didn't go to the branch where my mother file was.. i went to the branch convenient for me.. the one close to the office..
wala namang sinabi.. balik lang ako daw after 45 days..

Just got my new look plate (same number of course). Renewal was done 2nd week of January. I got it today but it was available na last week pa 3rd of April. That's about 90 days. What they promised was 45 days.

I wish these people from LTO would even take time to use email/sms (for those who opt to) to inform us registrants, instead of this usual answer I get - "Sir, wala pa eh, tawag tawag lang po". Mabuti kung laging may sumasagot sa LTO. Halos every other week tumatawag ako sa kanila ganun ang sagot.

Ako naman, katatapos ko lang magpa-renewal nang rehistro. OR lang na-recieve ko, wala yun sticker sa plate at winshield. Balik raw ako after 45 days to claim yung new plates. Diko lang nai-tanong i-siguro kung kasabay kasama sa release ng new plate ang registration stickers.

Ako jan 7 pa nagpa renew (end 1), wala pa rin sticker and new plate. 4 months na wala pa rin sticker sa LTO Binan. Walang pagbabago, lumala pa.

Follow up mo sa LTO regional office. Check the org chart of LTO where LTO binan answers to. Parang customer service reps lang yan, the frontliners are useless so dapat derecho ka sa officers if you don't want your time wasted.

the rules are simple..
nothing should hinder or obstruct read-ability of the plates. not even so-called "clear plastic" covers. not even borloloy edges..
those "MD" ears, i guess then are allowed, but not in front of the plates. sa tabi na lang, where they may not hinder even a square millimeter of plate....
btw, i have a feeling, that more non-MDs use these "MD" ears than real MDs..

i registered my old-plate "3" last march.. told to return 45 days later for the new look plates.. i did.. told to return after 60 more days..
i was told, only the "1"s are being issued as of now..

sana may iba pang "plate ear" (what i call 'em). gusto ko DVM (doctor of veterinary medicine) or DD (Doctor of Divinity.. pare!) or BS (bachelor of science, hoy!)
