Correct, actually I've seen two of those, patrolling the North bound stretch, astig! I would guess its 1000cc.

Concerning about the price increase, Im on it since I am getting my money's worth everytime I drive on the smooth and hopefully safe NLEX road.

i've heard na it will be around P2.60/km. since i'm travelling from balintawak to san simon at least 3x a week,
    56 kms x 2.60/km = 145.60 one way / 291.60 round trip x 3times= 873.60 / week

    at present- 25.00 one way/ 50 round trip x 3 = P150.00 / week

masyadong taga na to.... i think this is what you call "HIGHWAY ROBBERY"

    medyo mahal kasi ang cost:

The US$371 million project will be partly funded through borrowings from top international lenders. MNTC will pump in US$117.5 million while US$253.5 million will be provided by foreign lenders.
or roughly 21B pesos! i estimate that it would take them around 12-15 years before they post a ROI.

by the way, wala yang kurakot since private company ang MNTC.

Yes! That is what we aptly called.."highway robbery" indeed!
Mga pre, anybody knows how much the current rate of Balintawak to San Fernando?

I hope the government will also develop the McArthur highway para naman dun sa mga iba. This kind of increase sux big time! The government should provide us with the infrastrucure developments for free because we are all paying our taxes. Paano naman yung mga commuters from the North? Eh di pati bus rates eh tataas din? How about the farmers and the students/workers that reside sa North and going to office sa Makati?

Just imagine coming from Pampanga to Manila, P400 + agad yun x 5 = P2,000 x 4 = PP8,000 for the toll fee alone excluding gasoline and other misc. items. You mean to say the maintenance cost of your car will reach P96,000 a year? Whooah! I dont think my maintenance for my car will exceed and cost that much!

They have no sufficient grounds for the Toll Fee increase! This is insane! Mga #$+*%^$#% talaga sila at gobyerno natin! BULOK! Quote me on that!

    i definately agree on that!

96 thou for a year of maintenance....siguro compute nila puro galing casa ung parts(kasama ung oil and using the most expensive gas) plus adjustments siyempre(kahit sinung nagtanong may adjustment sa price, for his/her benifit)compute nyo maintenance nyo sa car nyu..worth ba siyang sa sinasabi nilang savings mo in a year?

just as i said...ok lang ang increase..ok sa akin rehab nila sa nlt...pero it should be reasonable enough for ALL OF US.

    P29 bro one way.
If the MNTC wants to recover their investment wisely, go for a staggered increase and try to invest in camera(for slowmoving vehicle, busted headlights), radars(overspeeding), weighbridge(overweight trucks) etc and fine them excessively(e.g. min of P2,000 or P5,000). Since this equipment offer hard proof evidence, i think NLEX will be very much orderly and at the same time minimize corruption. just my 2 cents.

    Pareng Ed,

Nice idea yan! I hope the MNTC will hear you. Helloooooooo MNTC!!!

Baligtad na ngyayari sa atin. "Its not what the country can do for you but its what you can do for your country." -Ganito ba dapat gawin ng mga mamamayan? Mali si Kennedy dito in this situation. Hehehe

Madami tataas dyan pag ginawa nila yang substantial Toll Fee increase.
    1. Bus fares - Kawawa naman commuters
    2. Produce(vegetables, fruits, etc.) coming from the north - kawawa tayong lahat.
    3. Construction materials (cement, sand, gravel, etc.) - Contractors/Builders/Owners

I can't remember the other intangible things pero definitely madami yan. How about the farmers, employees, factory workers from the North? Hindi ba nila iniisip iyon? Probably, they were thinking na if you can't afford it don't drive on it. What a shame! Lahat ng mga can't afford will suffer from the agony of traversing the traffic and hideous roads of Mcarthur highway just to save some money and definitely waste time.
They can increase the Toll fees provided it is within the reach of the common people.
I feel compassion for the Filipino people. I hope the BOT group & the government will feel the same.

    compare natin....

sa south is where all industries is...anu ba itong mga industries na ito:

    1.cars
    2.softdrinks
    3.computers

by comparison sa dalawa, masmadami ang dumadaan going to north than going south...kaya kahit di taasan ng sobra-sobra...mababawin din nila yan the same time..i guarantee on it..

    mikaztro,

I think that statement only applies to the US.. because they have a working government already.

    niwde11,

That's one good way to start.. I just hope they will consider that one.
