Ayos! ... sila muna gawing guinea pig ... but seriously, with data breaches happening left and right (i.e. Facebook, Uber, India National I.d., etc.), privacy will really be a big concern if this Phil. National I.d. pushes through... and for me personally, I don't trust the gov't with a consolidated database at their convenience .... no matter who's in Malacanang ... the tempation to use it for evil purposes is just too great.

Kung napakaimportante ng National I.D. na yan, bakit ibang magagandang bansa tulad ng UK, US, Canada, Australia, NZ wala niyan?

Gamit nila Social Security number nila in transacting with government or private entities. Malaking percentage ng citizens nila may SS. Dito sa atin, maliit lang kasi membership ng SSS. So walang means of identifying a person.

    yup.
if you don't have an SS number there, "you don't exist".

The big difference being that up to now, U.S. SS do not get US citizens' biometric data ... eh dito, all 10 fingerprints mandatory ... then maybe later both eyes' iris scan will also be mandatory .... then maybe add a face scan a few more years down the road ... at kung ano ano pang scan na pwede i-incorporate I'm sure idagdag yan ng gobyerno ... x ray scan?

i'd xerox mine using a very good copying machine, and have several laminated copies.
the barcode can still be read.
