    I think the government should provide better roads not only via BOT NLEX but also refurbish other minor roads and alternate route major highways like McArthur Highway etal. They should not pass the burden to all the Filipinos and justify it by saying we could save fuel and maintenance cost. What's the use of paying our taxes?

    hay naku...eto madaling example jan:

    1st birthday ng anak mo...

    handa sa bahay:-->makakamura,pero
    magluluto,maghuhugas,maglilinismagseserve,host/hostess mo,games/prizes,1-2 weeks ang preparation..in the end,nakakasama sa "take-home" cubyertos mo(kung di plastic utensils/paper plates,etc gamit mo)-->experience ko ito..and bagsak sa pagod..

    ung sa jollibee/mcdo/any fastfood:-->expensive,pero
    at least a month for reservation(mahaba ang pila),no prob sa host,games,food,etc...pambayad lang..may paregalo pa..basta pambayad lang..at pagdating ng party,hanggang makauwi kayo,enjoy..uwi pa ang sobra kung meron.

    so as sa NLEX na un...last monday,my daugther,na iniiwan ko sa lola nya sa palayan, has rashes..kelangan pacheck-up on that day asap..i dont mind the 78 pesos toll for my daughter's sake..but siguro,pag ako lang..normally..i hate that 78 pesos toll..its robbery..instead of spending only 30 pesos going back and forth from QC to palayan(kasi dito na ako full tank,1/2 lang magagamit ko normally),i spent 156pesos...and a time difference from the old NLEX is only 30 mins(from 3 hours to 2.5 hours)...

    so it follows that 126 pesos is the worth of my 30mins!which for me last monday is of no concern..im not willing to tipid the 126 pesos against my daugther..mga ganitong pagkakataon sulit ang nlex....pero mostly,its a stick-up...

    pero in fairness nawala ang traffic sa exits ng expressway...

    oo nga e, ang bait ko pa naman ngayon at 100-110kph lang ang takbo ko lagi. tapos ang daming nagoovertake sa akin, pero wala akong napapansin na nahuhuli or pinapahinto sa mga tollgates. talaga bang meron silang mga speed traps or press release lang nila yun?

    basta walang underspeeding at passing on the shoulders, mas mabuti na yon kesa mga speeding vehicles yung pagaksayahan nila ng oras

    ginyan din idealism ko :D hehehe... ok nang mabilis... mas malaking abala kasi talaga yung mga underspeeding cars eh... mas lalo na yung mga mababagal na kotse tapos parallel pa silang tumatakbo with another slow moving car. yan tuloy nabblock lahat ng traffic sa likod nila. sana talaga lahat ng slow car mag stay sa isang lane para hinda abala sa traffic :D

    pero ang daming mga slow moving vehicles ~80kph na palaging nasa fast lane, kahit ilawan mo na at businahan, ayaw pa rin tumabi. nakakainit ng ulo.

    The FX and other mega-taxis, well as the other public transports from were I come from that are using the new NLEX have increased their fares by as much as P 5-10 pesos one way. Now, for those NLEX users who are..."a bit better off", paying the new toll-fees is a non-issue because of the good ride, savings in terms of time and all that. But for ordinary Juan Dela Cruz, who's salary buy less and less nowadays, the additional P 5 for their everyday fare means, that in twenty days, they now have to budget an additional P 200. Is P 200 a big of deal? To the huge majority that uses public transport, it is, especially for those people who are only getting paid minimum (or even less) with a family to support. Question is, can they do anything about it? No, that's why even if it is hard for them, they bite the bullet. 'Walang magagawa eh.

    Basta mahal pa rin yung P42 flat rate nila. Especially sa mga Meyc-Malinta toll users. Period. ;)

    another computation to quantify...

    PRIVATE VEHICLE
    36.25 Cost of Gasoline (8km/L, 29P/L, 10km)
    42 Toll Fee
    78.25 Total Cost

    15.65 per head if 5 passengers
    19.5625 per head if 4 passengers
    26.083 per head if 3 passengers
    39.125 per head if 2 passengers
    78.25 per head if driver only

    PUBLIC VEHICLE
    20 Jeepney fare
    35 FX fare

    IMO... the fees are costly if you are driving alone... but add even just 1 passenger and it is almost at par with riding in a public transpo.

    The FX fare from Bulacan ranges from P 45-55, depending on the point of origin. There are now talks to add another P 5, and this is just because of the toll-fees. If you factor in the projected price increases of gas and diesel for the next six weeks, then it might go higher. Last week, I rode an FX from Malinta to MRT traveling the NLEX. The fare: P 40.

    I think its even more than 13% kasi mas tatagal pa ang life ng kotse mo!So, instead the usual 7 or 8 years lang ang tagal ng kotse, aabot pa ito ng at least twice than that!
