This is water under the bridge already. End of the year na meaning almost all have already renewed & paid for the registration with new plate charge. They should have done this right after COA flagged them down but they waited for the year to end to get everyone into the net. If anyone would benefit from this memo, it's only those who did not register yet but then they are to be penalize for late registration so wala din lusot sa pagkakakitaan ng LTO racket. If ny have to be hanged on this racket. it's ABAYA. But that is until the next admin comes and Libog Party is history.

regarding the new LTO plates, napakaflimsy talaga ng material na ginamit. I saw one time yung new plates nakakabit sa isang pedicab.

I've been seeing some ending in 4 but I'm quite surprised when I saw an 8.

does the entire plate number suggest a "special plate" ?

Nope. The letters are non-consecutive and non-repeating. The only thing that's off is the first letter - "J" which is for ARMM region.

The machines delivered last February, are part of the contract of Trojan Computer Forms Manufacturing Corp. and JH. Tonnjes E.A.S.T. GmbH Joint Venture, which won the deal for the procurement of motor vehicle and motorcycle license plates to address the backlog from July 2016 and beyond.

While the contract stipulated only five manual plate-making machines, the contractor provided two more at no additional cost to the government.

The DOTr expects an automated embossing machine to be delivered in July, and be made operational by August this year.

“We do not want a repeat of the problem on license plates. That’s why it is better if we ourselves would manufacture than have it made abroad because that delays the process. With the proper equipment and training, we can do it,” Tugade said.
