Affected din ako ng naka-TRO na plate numbers. June 2016 unit, no plate pa rin. Hays!
Hi to all.
I just got my plate from the dealer. I bought the Unit May 2017 and got the physical plates 2 years later. Minalas lang kasi same last digit as my 2013 car. I do not remember if nagfillup ako nung forms noong 2017 for request ng last digit which I did noong 2013. I remember na may time na di na pwede magrequest or something. Ang question ko lang is paano mag apply nung Special plates? and is the LTO accepting applications at this time. Very rare na nga ako pumunta Manila from Calamba tapos na binggo pa sa last digit.![]()
Is this legit? If true, best of the brightest nanaman.
Di pa makapunta ng parking to check.
Now this is quite alarming. The new RFID plates issued have a QR code on them that can be read by any smartphone. I didn't believe it at first, I mean, how could such sensitive data be so accessible to just anyone, so I randomly walked up to a car in the car park and scanned it and was able to get all this info.
There's a lot you can do with this data. You can fake an OR CR for one using all the correct details except for the name. Then you can hock it to those dodgy lenders that only ask for that. Then what happens to the person who legitimately owns the car?
But regardless of what you can and cant do, its gotta be a serious breach of privacy. There's even a phone number registered.

designed talaga yan to be read by any smartphone, para hinde na mahirapan ang pulis probinsya pag identify ang car Inyo kung lets say naaksidente kayo dun or gumagamit kayo ng Iba car na nakaw na plates
so maybe puwede ma-identity theft pero that's a long shot.
holy cow!
quick... sunugin ang QR code area!
sunugin rin yung responsable!
parang dinesplay yung CR sa windshield.
But the db should not be available to the public.

Travs. Mine shows just a random number when scanning the plate

Partial release of license plates to begin Monday —LTO
Published December 1, 2019 5:57pm
The partial release of motor vehicle license plates will begin on Monday, according to the Land Transportation Office.
In a Facebook post last Thursday, the LTO also said that the partial delivery of license plates will be for motor vehicles registered between January and June 2016.
Vehicle owners can check the availability of their license plates through their car dealers or at LTO Online Web Portal.

i am a holder of the old green on white plates.
my new black on white plates are / were supposedly held in the piers.
recently, there was news that the hold order on these plates are being lifted, and owners are advised to check with their LTOs.
well, i did. yes, they had a list of availables. but the list was long, and was listed down in random order. hassle naman!
anubanaman ang i-lista in alphanumeric order! any decent computer operator can do that.
