PSA: Some LTO offices will soon only accept vehicle inspection reports from PMVICs

    xxx

Under Department of Transportation (DOTr) memorandum circular no. 2021-02, authorized PMVICs are now each assigned a geographical area of responsibility (GAOR). If an LTO district or extension office falls under a PMVIC’s GAOR, it will only accept vehicle inspection reports from that facility.

Keep in mind that a full PMVIC motor vehicle inspection still is not required and that only the visual inspection and emissions test is necessary for LTO renewal.

In cases where a motorist plans to renew his or her vehicle registration at an LTO office that does not fall under a PMVIC’s GAOR, he or she still has the option of having the car inspected via an authorized private emissions testing center (PETC) and the LTO’s own process.

These measures will apply to the LTO registration of light vehicles and motorcycles only. LTO offices will still accept the results of authorized PETCs for heavy vehicles.

    xxx

Tamang-tama for me. I requested for the chattel papers for my "7" a week ago. Still have time to have it processed at the Registry of Deeds then isang lakaran na lang sa LTO.

Anyone here knows how to transfer ownership without going to original place of registration, for example in Mindanao or Visayas is where the CR and wants it transferred to Metro Manila?

    Is my assumption correct?

LTOs within NCR will require MVIS only for car registration?

they came up with a list of LTO branches and the corresponding nearest MVIC outlet that services it.

Not just NCR, even in our neck of the woods now. MVICs do everything. Their equipment covers emissions, dynos alignment/suspension/brakes(all 4 corners & e-brake), checks all lights(including headlamp illumination/alignment). Underbelly, they do ocular checks..
& then there's the registration renewal processing w/ insurance coverage for an added fee. One stop shop is the intention.

Still doubting the system, are those guys knowledgeable on all types/makes? May brochure ba sila of every vehicle?

Naalala ko bigla yung nasira na Subaru.

And add that sa Private lang ito mandatory? Or for all na ba?

Knowledgeable on all makes? Definitely not..& they won't allow the owner to drive thru all the tests.
Private vehicles only? Did not see a single public there today. Their menu only mentions motorbikes, private vehicles...
    The dairy cows?[emoji848]
    I wish this weren't yearly.

Noong nasira yung differential ng Subaru, nagturuan pa sila.

    Yun talaga abala.

Repairs chargeable to them is given, pero yung abala sa owner paano naman diba? You just want to comply and register your vehicle.

    Tapos sinira pa oto mo.
