I talked to the head honcho of the emissions center I went to. He is 100% for the stricter inspection process. What's holding them back from investing 5M in the machines is that the IRR is not yet out and it looks like the LTO official who pushed for this has been shown the door.
1,800 a year is a small price to pay to get death traps off the streets. They just have to make it airtight and "lagay"-free.

if there are only 138 private motor vehicle inspection centers, and there are 10 million motor vehicles in the country that need annual renewal...
...that's about 300 motor vehicles being tested per day per five-day week per testing facility lane...
i took the liberty of googling dti, where i found out that as of july 2020, there have 135 accredited testing facilities of the usual kind in the country, with a total of about 211 testing lanes. at 10M vehicles, that's about 197 tests per lane per work day. and even before covid (march 2020), mahaba na ang pila sa emissions testing...
..are we painting ourselves into a corner... again?

Naguguluhan na ako sa initial registration with 3 years validity, bale 2018 yun isa pero 1 month earlier kung based mo sa ending ng plate compare sa rehistro expiration then yun 2019 naman based sa ending plate mas mauna naman mag expire rehistro.
So to be sure mag advance na lang ako pagrehistro pag dumating na yun time.
Pero tama pa na 2018 sa 2021 pa then 2019 sa 2022 pa?

Ang tunay na maswerte ay yung di nakaranas ng mahabang pila sa emission, bonus na lang sakin kung may sticker man, tutal may tatak naman ang OR na No Sticker Available.
Kung alam ko lang na may 1-month extension pa ulit hindi na sana ako dumaan sa kakilala ni utol.

For me, if you're employed then the economics of the these fixers/facilitators' patong vs your time become simple: How much is a day's wage? Half a day's wage? Coz that's roughly what you'll lose taking care of the registration.

Wow they are charging me Php3k for non appearance for smoke test plus O.R. fee. 3K is a bit much for me.
