“I condemn in the highest possible term unscrupulous businessmen charging fees for parking,” ani Jaworski.

“Parking should always be available to the customers as component of better service, it should not be chargeable because it is abusing the kindness of customers supporting their businesses,” ani Jaworski.

“This must be stopped immediately, clients should be treated and accorded due respect,” ani Jaworski.

Sa Shopwise Cubao ganun ang policy nila with a minimum purchase of P300, your first 3 hrs is free.

You are usually given a choice, if you want to bring a car to park in a parkign structure, then you have to pay for the cost of building & operating such a place. Even open parking has it's cost of operating such as taxes, cost of maintenance of facilities (lights, guards, pavement, fencing, etc). Its just the reality of living in ANY city in the world.

Festival mall has free parking, be it covered or not. I recall alabang town center has some free parking spaces.

If festival mall can do it, why cant the other malls (with some exemptions)?

because some malls are trying to get customers to stay in their malls instead of going to the other more popular malls. Matter of supply and demand.

wala ng free parking ang atc. ang free na lang dun is yung space in front ng Outback/Max Restaurant in front of St. Jerome's Church and yung parking space sa may motortown, again facing St. Jerome.

they charge 15 pesos after 30 minutes so that 30 minutes below is free. except for the promenade area fronting Makati supermarket. You can have your ticket validated at Makati supermarket, if you happen to buy something there maski dun sa may nagtitinda ng taho dun. tapos park ka na whole day. hehehehe. other establishments there like The Spa or the shops at promenade do not validate parking tickets na.

in festival mall. the reason i think why they still don't charge for parking is that they have a large area allocated for that. tsaka mukhang minimal maintenance lang specially dun sa indoor parking nila (manipis ang flooring, may mga tumutulong tubo, etc....)

SM Southmall also, i think does not charge for its outdoor parking facilities, but it does for its indoor and covered parking. you pay 20 pesos as you enter the facilities.

i agree that it is ok to pay for parking specially if security is a concern. ano ba yung 20 pesos, kung mabubukas kotse gang ka naman. also, paying for parking is a better alternative if you are in makati, kesa ma tow ka...

^^yep. festival mall does offer free parking spaces for all its clients and shoppers. although alabang town center has started charging parking fees for their patrons a year or two ago, the open parking spaces at the rear portion of the mall, the ones near the church and the car specialty shops are still free.

what i'd like to see though are safe and affordable parking spaces near mrt and lrt terminals so that motorists would be encouraged to use these mode of transportations. as it is, the nearest parking spaces available are usually those that are operated by mall owners too and we all know they tend to charge an arm and a leg

If anyone should complain about parking, it should be those street pay parking (like the ones at Makati CBD) and other areas like in Greenhills.
