I usually say thank you by blinking my hazard lights three times

Got this habit from driving in Germany about 15 years ago.

Another thing they do? If there is a police car with a speed radar up ahead, the car on the opposite lane will blink their headlights twice to warn you

Let's' incorporate it in our driving habit ,or better yet,let the LTO teach it to all who will apply for new license ,this may start new chapter in road courtesy and put a smile on everybody :thankyou::car:

Well, it all starts with giving way

Unfortunately dito, kailangan pang matuto mag give way, lalo na yung mga PUV

Maraming swapang sa daan, di lang PUV. At maraming di alam gumamit ng turn signal pag papasok ng lane, basta lang papasok...

Keeping the intersection open (do not block the intersection) during heavy traffic, even if you're green and go, is a real dilemma.

If you keep the intersection open, then others will take advantage of you, i.e., block the intersection and get in front of you, and the drivers behind you will definitely honk at you with all their wits and call you names....

Worse, if you strictly adhere to it,- then you may not be able to cross the intersection.....

When I was in Tokyo, madalas ko makita yung hazard to say thank you. Then I started doing it nung pagbalik ko dito sa pinas.

^^^ That is what I was thinking too....

If this group here in tsikot (and I think we have a big group) could adopt these courtesy practices,- then there is hope that everyone will catch the passion for road safety and courtesy....

i'm doing this too, since i read here way back about this topic. The thing is, even though gusto mo lagi gawin, parang konting breed lang ang may kakayanan magbigay sa kapwa motorista. But its cool kung ikaw mabigyan ng ganyan TY sa road dito.

^yep. Ganyan nga iniisip ko. Marami naman tayo sa tsikot. As a courtesy nalang din to the driver who gave way to us.

BTW mods, I know we have the same thread na before regarding the use of hazard light as "courtesy" of Japanese drivers here in tsikot. Baka pwede merge nalang.

usually ang thank you dito sa atin is 2 short beep, or kaway.

ang hazard ginagamit pag malakas ulan, pag magcounter flow, illegal parking, illegal loading/unloading, or to sum it up people use it to break traffic laws hahahaha
