Kaya ako laging less 5 or 10kph lagi, para safe.

Hi! First post ko dito sa tsikot.
Sa Saudi, as per my experience, meron tolerance na +5KPH. Tried both with the "stand aone" na speed camera and with the speed gun of highway patrol.

Thanks and ingat lagi sa biyahe!

Never use the shoulders as it is for emergencies only or for when 1 lane is closed and the shoulder is specifically allowed to be used. What will people whose cars break down use to stop and park if you use the shoulders. Kaya nga may nakalagay na "for emergency parking only" e.

ang speed gun eh meron din interference in between the car and the speed gun kaya meron 5 to 10% tolerance/error rate given... we are not on a perfect world na pag nag 101km/h eh overspeeding na... defined yan sa calibration na di sya exact value

Compared to yesteryears, I see less & less of vehicles using the shoulder. I guess drivers are learning, albeit, slowly.

dati sa TPLEX, may dalawang sasakyan ako nasundan, tumatakbo sila ng 100kph at occupied nila both lanes. mas nauuna ng konti yung nasa right. i was on the left and flashing to signal the car in front of me to move to the right para maka-overtake ako or faster para malampasan niya yung nasa right ng makalampas din ako. ayaw, dedma lang. for a few kilometers ganun sitwasyon, the car on left lane in front of me won't even budge. then another approaching car on my rear started to flash his high beam. i safely went to the right lane para siya ang mang-ilaw, baka sakaling tumabi. i kept a distance sa nasa harap ko sa right to give space kay dedma car just in case tatabi sa right lane. as in ayaw talaga, steady lang siya sa lane niya. hanggang naipon na kami around 7 or so cars. then naisip ko bakit di ko ilawan si car sa front ko. i tried and in just one flick and konting signal ng left turn, umarangkada siya konti to give me enough space para makalusot. nakalampas ako then nagsunuran na lahat ng mga nasa likuran. open na open yung daan kaya arangkada ng konti pero nasa RIGHT lane tayo. mahirap makaabala sa mga high beaming friends

Found this article of Niky and quoting him:

    9. Leftist philosophy. No, we're not talking politics. We're talking about the left-lane habit.

What's right: People, "left-hand drive" doesn't mean driving on the left! Granted, the right lane in the city is filled to bursting with immobile jeepneys, roadside vendors and parked cars. But sitting in the leftmost lane on the open highway forces overtaking cars to pass you on your blind side. It's also illegal, by the way, and worth a ticket when the enforcers feel like enforcing the rules. And keeping left on two-lane provincial roads, facing rampaging buses with bad brakes...well, that's just stupid.

Some are caught, most are not.
Thank you so much for the info guys.

No worries boss, I almost died in an accident as a passenger back then so I dont do stupid things like that. It was just an observation hehe.

Agreed with the slex and nlex boundaries. I run on nlex at 110 to 120 and I havent been flagged down yet, but I've experienced being flagged down at star tollway at 110 kph. Good thing i was just a passenger then heheh

Since high beam topic ito, I remember an LTO ordinance banning fog lamps. The LTO even went to the extent of confiscating these during registration & on the road. Fog lamps were eventually replaced by an even worse gadget, the LED Bar. There were a couple of instances in the evening when these jerks were behind me and an instance in the SLEX opposite lane when I saw a pick-up with HID's & LED bars in full beam.

Question lang. If I'm in the middle lane(s) at may nagsignal/highbeam sa likod ko, am I obliged to signal back to acknowledge that he can overtake? CMIIW, same pace lang kasi ginagawa ko at di ako nagsisignal. I stay on my lane as long as I'm above minimum speed. Thanks

In my experience, in NLEX, the outermost lane is the fastest lane.

118 kph means his speedometer reading was over 120 kph already, kaya siguro hinuli.

With my car, I maintained a criusing speed of 100 then reset the computer. Reading came out 95. Means may buffer pa ako na 5kms/hr. Quick question for cars with HU that have GPS, doesn't it give an audible warning if there is a radar? The Mirage G4 does kasi.

Yung MS ko yata meron pag naka on ang Navi.

Unlike the service Hilux, may audible sound sya pag nag exceed ka sa 120 kph
