to those regularly using the north tollway AND who could possibly have contacts in government or in media.... you may want to look into this...

right now they charge 42 pesos from balintawak to bocaue for class 1... ang press release nila ay the motorist will be paying Php 2.48/km for class1... so kung 42 / 2.48... Balintawak to Bocaue should be about 16 kms... tama?

i haven't done this actually, measuring distance travelled from balintawak to bocaue... but i do regularly use the NLEX and exit at Sta. Rita... they now charge Php 36.00 from Bocaue up to Sta. Rita (dagdag pa yung Php 42.00 na from Balintawak to Bocaue)... kanina i reset my trip meter when i paid up at Bocaue to zero.. pag dating ko ng Sta. Rita.. it was at 10.2kms...so kung 2.48 / km ang charge nila.. dapat nasa Php 25.00 lang ang singil nila from Bocaue to Sta. (from 235/75r15 na orig ng Ford Ranger, right now i'm using 245/70r16).. kahit na i factor ko yan.. the trip meter should only be off by at most 5% so maximum 11kms lang dapat... kung 11 x 2.48 dapat upto 28 or 29 pesos lang bayad... ang laki pa rin ng taga nila at 7 pesos!!!!

bukas i'll really remember to reset my tripmeter to get a reading from balintawak (dun sa tollgate niya ngayon) upto Bocaue... i have a feeling na hindi rin ito mag add up to 2.48/kms...

haven't notice this one. will check it out on my next trip..

if NLEX is really overcharging us, then this matter should be reported to the proper authority so they can correct it..

i did remember to reset my trip meter pag daan ko sa balintawak.. eto po ang nangyari:

pag daan ko sa may balintawak, kalalagpas ko lang ng flyover papasok ng novaliches / eternal gardens... may nakita na akong sign na "MNTC JURISDICTION STARTS HERE"... at that point ko po ni-reset ang trip meter....

pag abot ko ng Balintawak toll gate, it was already at abour 1.7kms... so sige itinakbo ko hanggang Bocaue.. the reading was at 18.7... so lumalabas na 17 kms from Balintawak toll gate upto Bocaue... 17 x 2.48 = 42.16 so at this point mukhang tama talaga yung press release nila na 2.48 / km... at least for the open system...

i proceeded directly to Sta. Rita Exit and the trip meter clocked in at 28.. so talagang 10kms from bocaue to sta. rita.... kung 2.48 x 10 dapat = to 24.80 lang... bakit 36 ang singil nila aber??

although nasubukan ko rin on the same trip.. instead of driving through the toll booth along bocaue sa gitna mismo ng expressway... i opted to exit at Bocaue ramp... so umakyat ako ng bocaue exit.. since wala naman toll booth dun.. diretso lang palabas... pag akyat ko.. dumiretso uli ako pa exit through the toll booth and got my ticket... then onwards to sta. rita exit...

Yes! At last may kakampi ako! :D I'm from Meycauayan and its distance from Balintawak is around 10kms. So 10kms * 2.48 = Php24.80 lang. Yung mga taga-Malinta which is has a 5km distance. 5Km * 2.48 = Php12.4 lang. So MNTC's Flat Rate Sucks!!!

Right now, yung mga "garage" na van sa amin are charging P 45 for MRT commuters and P 50 for Cubao commuters.

maybe they are using the km markers at macartur hiway and not really the km length of the nlex? kasi mas mahaba ang macarthur kesa nlex pag dun ka dadaan di ba? if true, daya nga yun!

Accurate kaya yun? Right now, grabe trafic sa McArthur. All days, traffic jam kahit gabi na. Kapag Biyernes Santo 'ata lang dehins trapik.

hold your horses mga parekoy... baka naman yung P2.48/km e VAT free pa. at baka meron ding local taxes na naka charge dyan from Bulacan, so... pass on nila yun. kaya ayun! more than the expected price ang singil.

maraming ganyang cases, behind every service or goods you pay for... the government is silently collecting and killing you.

ang masakit talga nito... the construction and maintenance of highways should really be a public service that should be rendered by government. e palpak talaga ang gobyerno pag dating sa delivery of basic services. kaya ayun, we're at the mercy of business enterprises.

kawawa talga middle class... bawas na sweldo via the withholding tax... yung natirang sweldo, dinudugas pa ulit via the VAT and other municipal taxes.
