Background: Is it necessary to go through a driving school? If so, which is the best?

So, long story short, I'm nearly done with my 15-hour automatic driving course (I enrolled with Smart Driving School) and should be ready to drive by the first or second week of September.

But right now, after having already tried driving and realizing the many things one has to be aware of while driving, I'm having this fear and anxiety towards actually driving my own car without the safety net of having an instructor beside me.

Dinaanan niyo ba to? Am I worrying too much? Anong masasabi niyo tungkol dito? Thanks! ;)

Masisikip na, two-way pa, tapos may mga naka-parada pa sa tabi ng daan...

On one occassion, nagulat ako biglang hinawakan nung instructor yung manibela tapos kinabig niya agad pa-kaliwa.

driving is a skill that is learned thru practice. one has to force oneself to drive, otherwise one will not learn.
it's like learning to ride a bicycle. if you don't try it, you'll never learn.
just strengthen your resolve and hit the road. eventually, you will be able to drive even if half asleep (not recommended!).
new versus older car? doesn't matter, as long as the car is fully functional. sometimes, it's easier to find spare parts for a newer car..
also, if you can afford it, have a comprehensive insurance policy, just in case..
lastly, perhaps you can try the less-traveled roads first.. inside subdivisions.. near the water..
ahhh.. saan ba ruta mo... heh heh..

    practice practice practice..

drive slow at first, wag mo intindihin yung mga bumubusina sayo.. just stay at your lane.. at your own pace... wag mo iisipin makakasagasa ka.. kaya may brake para dyan... if you're in doubt.. step on the brakes.. pag huminto ka.. wala ka tatamaan..

practice lang. slowly but surely. stage by stage yan. una dun ka sa maluwag na wala masyadong sasakyan, tapos next sa medyo marami na. hanggang sa edsa na :D

    mukha namang dumaan dyan lahat.

Araw arawin mo lang ang pag mamaneho mo kahit papunta work or joyride with friends sa drive thru.

I can relate to the TS. I am learning how to drive right now inside the subdivision and sobrang kaba tala sa unang hawak ng manibela pero the longer you spend driving, the more at ease you will be pala.

Teacher is the best experience este
Experience is the best teacher. Kaya practice pa, drive lang ng drive and always keep in mind that it doesnt hurt to be extra careful.
