balita ko deferred pa yung pag pass ng bill na yan dahil wala pa yung version ng Senate.

So that means, hindi pa nila ma-reconcile yung House & Senate version of the law to pass it. It's too late for Congress to pass it, malapit na recess ng Congress.

Probably in the next session of Congress dun palang mapapag-aralan ng mabuti yan and there are petitions to indefinitely defer the passing of the Excise Tax.

    Its true...

Pero yung exact amount nung increase ang hindi ko sure...

There are actually two scenarios after June 6.

Scenario 1 is the BIR Revenue regulation which removes the AUV excemption and redefinces the minimum dimensions of a car seat. Kaya yung mga kunyari 10 seaters dyan ay hindi na lulusot.

Scenario 2 is the Senate/House bill. If they pass it before June 6 (which is very unlikely) then it will supercede the BIR regulation. Sa Senate, tataas din prices nang AUVs but not that much compared to Scenario 1.

The implementation of the BIR regulation has already been deferred at least three times. Kaya sabi ni Sec Camacho of the Dept of Finance, 3 strikes and you're out na daw. If the Senate doesnt enact the bill by June 6, the BIR will take matters into their own hands

Kaya if you want to buy a brand new AUV or CRV, there is no better time than NOW

Baka nga umabot ng 1.5M ... depende which AUV ito Try to negotiate some kind of price protection from the dealer na lang similar to what BMW Philippines offers... Check out mo yung letter nung BMW Phils president sa www.bmw.com.ph

Yung CRV, expect it to go beyond the PhP 1M barrier (add 35% for a good estimate). The best time to buy a CRV is before June 1. Kasi may promo ang Honda ngayon na may 15,000 discount sa old price nang CRV plus madami pang freebies. By June 1, wala na yung promo, by June 6, may excise taxes na... So for the CRV, it's now or never!!!

That also means that car manufacturers are selling their AUVs with a high mark-up price.

Just take a look at the Rav4 SV or Escape 4x2. They are both priced very near the P1M mark and yet they both do not enjoy the 10% tax exemption.
