normally no, but lax in application-car napper and lax on the application of notarial law hence lax on the application of bringing original documents

if you bought the car brand new, always bring a copy of the invoice(original) then a photo static copy of the or and cr

years ago, when i bought my brand new car, i got my plates and all papers within 2 weeks.

a few months ago, the LTO (?) made a big announcement that their offices were full of number plates.. ready for pick up by the new owners.. and that they would start apprehending cars without plates very soon, because there was no reason they should not have plates anymore..

well, it never happened... the apprehension over apprehension of plate-less cars was apparently baseless.. no apprehensions occured.. and my guess is, they found out that they ran out of plates very fast..

fast forward today.. they still haven't started apprehending.. and i still haven't gotten my new car's plates.. over 1 month na..

now, they announce they'll start apprehending plate-less cars come november..
does that mean, my plates are now ready for pick-up?

baka naman... once they realize the delivered plates are not enough to slake the thirst for new plates..
then they'll quietly stop apprehending again..???

    anubayan...!

i'm a taxpayer, and i'm mad at these guys who can't seem to do something as simple as having number plates manufactured..
the technology isn't new.. it has been with us for decades!

kaya ba tumatagal ang pag pprocess ng mga or/cr and plate ng mga newly purchased
vehicle ay dahil iniipon ng dealer ang mga application ng mga newly purchased vehicle and after 1 month or 2, saka nila ito dadalhin sa LTO.. kasi as per my SA namen after 4 months ang ibinigay nila sa amin to release the plate..

just want to share dito sa riyadh KSA. plate first to release next day is the car
    sana ganyan din sa pinas...

May required size, color, font ba yung temporary plate number (from the conduction sticker).
Requirement ba ng MMDA to or LTO?

wala namang required size, etc. basta lang decently read-able.
and yes, it's a requirement nowadays, until the real number plates become available.

is it the LTO or yung dealer mismo ang cause ng delay?

Paliwanag sa akin ng agent, kahit na release na ang kotse, may hinihintay pa silang papers from Customs to file the registration w/ LTO. (Not sure if this is true o palusot lang.)

No plate no travel policy will be implemented this November.

LTO is now blaming the dealers, late daw magpa rehistro ng mga nabentang oto.

LTO should set up a website where consumers can check the status of their registration so this will force the dealers to submit our paperwork within 7 days of purchase. AS of now, my dealer still says its waiting for LTO to process the plates...bought the car in July.

Paano na lang kung wala pa ring plaka, di hindi na naman magagamit ang sasakyan? Talo lagi ang consumer dito.

Daming excuses ng LTO, why would the consumer be penalized for their mistakes? Sila pasimuno ng ganitong gulo. Dapat me sibakan nang nagaganap sa ganyang ahensiya.

That's how dumb stupid DOTC is to which LTO is attach. They create all the problem and blame it to the motoring public. Look at the MRT fiasco , airport craps etc...Dapat sibakin itong si Abaya and all his minions at DOTC, LTO , LTFRB & NAIA. Alam lang nila paano kumita, pero walang alam sa servisio.

Dapat itong mga ito ang ikulong at pagmultahin. Sahod lang ng sahod, wala naman service. Puro mga walang silbing palamunin sa gobierno.

If LTO is blaming the dealers then dapat sila ang ma penalize. Kada may mahuling walang plaka, yung dealer na responsible ang may fine.
    Pare parehas mga og*g.

Yan na nga ang nakakainis they all pin it down sa consumer. I also heard of the no or/cr no travel policy. So paano implementation nun? They will flag down cars without plates yet and check OR/CR? Just imagine if this will be done on major roads, sigurado traffic na katakot-takot.

Dapat sana hindi makakabenta ang mga dealer if they don't have a plate for the brand new unit yet. Para pag labas casa hassle free na.

I was tuned in DZMM and I heard this issue being tackled on the program of Julius Babao and Kaye Dacer. They interviewed LTO and I don't remember his exact explanation but he explained that it's not really the plates but more of the OR/CR.

He explained that after you have rolled out your vehicle from the dealership, the dealer should file to the LTO for the OR/CR right away. He said that what the dealers are doing, for them to save from always going to the LTO, they wait for the applications to pile up before bringing them to LTO for filing. That would leave the brand new car buyer thinking that his/her vehicle's OR/CR are being processed but in reality it's not. So he/she is driving an unregistered vehicle not until his/her OR/CR are in his/her possession. Then Kaye asked what will happen if the OR/CR are still not with the owner and it gets into an accident, the LTO guy said that that's their worry coz the vehicle is unregistered.

The LTO guy said that they are really trying to release everything in the shortest possible time but he said that delays are due to the dealers fault. So starting Nov, he said that they will pull over vehicles without plates and check if the vehicle is registered already.

Now I called my agent in Otis and told her what I heard in the news. She said that it is not true and they are not briefed yet on this issue. She said that why would they delay the process, in fact if they can just release the OR/CR right away, they will. Plus they don't want their clients to be asking them every now and then for their OR/CR and plates so if they can release it asap, they will. But it is taking so long for the LTO to release those. But she said for her clients, it only takes about 2 months for the OR/CR to be released while the plates take about 5 to 6 months.

She added that her clients don't even need to follow up with her coz ones those arrive, she calls the client immediately since she knows how important those are.

This is just bull. LTO is blaming the dealers and dealers are blaming the LTO. Now we are stuck in between and we are the ones who will get inconvenienced again.

Correct!! Kawawa na naman tayo neto. Called up my SA also and she said wala pa nga rin daw sila notice regarding dito sa no OR/CR thing. I hope ma sort out sya before November implementation.

not only to enforce the no plate no travel, the traffic enforcers, police and patrols should enforce the proof of insurance, registration, driver's license and the safety inspection report everytime they do a routine traffic stop or traffic accident response. specially the jeepneys, most of the time they do not have valid insurance for passengers and the vehicles they damage in an accident. the only insurance they have is the "kamot ulo" insurance and the "pasensya na boss"

I don't know... When I got a car before, the or/cr was quick. Meantime, the plates came almost a year after.
