If the LTO were to actually require all drivers to undergo an honest-to-goodness road test (walang under the table, ha), what percentage of drivers would actually pass??
Would you pass??

I'd pass... maybe. I mean, I passed the written test with flying colors.
I have some friends that have taken an honest-to-goodness driving exam at the LTO... pretty pathetic, really. Would be better if such exam were outsourced to driving academies.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
i'll think i'll still pass the exam
my first exam failed so waited for about 3 months and do more practice
my second take passed
but i think most driver who will fail.... PUV driver
I think I will pass, both the written and the practical exams.
I remember some years ago, when I took the written and practical exams at the DMV in CA. It was an honest-to-goodness test. I was even complimented by the person who conducted the practical exam.....

i definitely think i'll pass.
my first drivers exam both written and actual was when I was 16 years of age in another country with strict driving laws. and I passed on the first take.
so if taken here.ill pass with flying lugnuts. heheheh![]()
i took the exam 19kopong-kopong pa, honest exam, walang lagay.
I passed both in one try.
Local LTO driving and written tests are easy to pass.
Try the German way.
Definitely would pass. I have taken practical driving tests in Saudi Arabia, Singapore and in China. Passed them all.
Except I failed the "mission impossible" parallel parking test when I applied for a license at LTO Cainta.
See my post about it. It was quite an experience![]()
Here in Dubai, they have begun implementing a very strict testing procedure so very few pass the road test. For every batch of four people, one or none passes the test. So that's a maximum of 25% of all who take the test. The examiners usually trick students into doing something that will somehow violate traffic laws, which in turn makes them fail the test. The key to passing the test is to know what and what not to do while driving.
This does not answer your question, I know. Just to give you the idea that even a strict driving test won't lead to a safer bunch of people on the road.

dito kasi ang driving test sa atin, OT... kaya sisiw ang written exam!
ang tanong, yun bang sinasagutan nila sa exam eh na-aaply ba nila sa daily driving? i think iilan lang ang sasagot ng OO... reality check...
I was written a ticket in makati long time ago. I didn't contest, I unknowingly entered a one way street.
Nung kinuha ko sa mmda yun license ko, sabi I have to take the seminar daw. Pagdating sa seminar, sabi bigay na lang daw ng exam, yung di daw papasa e yun na lang magse seminar. When I saw the exam, it's the same as the written exam sa pagkuha ng license. I passed! But guess who failed the exam..... jeepney drivers and bus drivers

I guess the more appropriate question is how many of those who actually drive for a living (Bus, PUJ, Taxi, FX, Trucks) would pass a driver's exam.
Its just a guess but 20 out of a 100 examinees would be too high. Most would flunk the written exam and even more on the actual driving test.
Yes, Afterglow has very good point and really wonders how many would pass a proper driving exam.
And how everyone claims to be good and be able say they can "drive with one hand be his hide back" of whatever way to prove their ability, but bottom line is driving standard very poor...
Landy..
Total agreement with afterglow, if taking a proper test then most of the drivers would fail... and as for those saying “their able to drive with one hand behind their back” would be the first I would be suspicious off... bottom line is general driving standards are very poor, and there is no to blame except the very drivers sitting behind the wheel..
And how many would pass a proper driving test?
How many indicate to change lane? How many indicate when pulling out in the main stream of traffic instead of sticking your car nose out to obstruct the continuous flow? How many indicate when turning a corner? As there do not seem to be law for the above, why have indicators, so why don’t we have indicators as an optional extra when buying your next car !!! Think of it? As you don’t have to buy those little orange lights that are so nicely arranged at each corner of your car, your next vehicle should be cheaper to buy..
So, be honest: how many of you would pass a proper driving exam?
If ever I will take the LTO exams, Im sure Ill pass. But the first time I took it long time ago I failed. Must be nervous and all.![]()
