DPWH to close portion of SLEX

    The Philippine Star 02/23/2006

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in coordination with the PNCC Skyway Corp. (PSC), operator of the elevated highway and the at-grade from Nichols to Alabang, will partially close the Sales interchange area to give way for the girder launch activity on Feb. 27, 28 and March 1, from 11 p.m. until 4 a.m.

"In view of the ongoing work of the DPWH flyover at the Sales area, a traffic rerouting scheme will be undertaken at midnight of the above-mentioned dates when traffic is expected to be less congested," PSC vice president for operations Romerico Reganit said.

He said that the DPWH has coordinated with them regarding the activity and promised to provide traffic management in the area when the activity is undertaken.

On Feb. 27, northbound motorists going to Pasay will be diverted to Sales Bridge to Villamor Air Base, while those going to Makati and Manila will have to take Pasong Tamo Extension.

On Feb. 28, northbound motorists going to Pasay will have to take C-5 and Sales Bridge toward Villamor Air Base. Those going to Makati and Manila must take the East Service Road to Pasong Tamo Extension, while those going to Mandaluyong and Pasig must take C-5.

On March 1, southbound traffic from Pasay will be diverted to the West Service Road to Bicutan, while those from Magallanes must take Sales Loop to the East and West Service Road to Bicutan.

Reganit also gave assurance that traffic officers will be on site to direct motorists. Traffic directional signs will likewise be installed at strategic areas to guide the public. – Rhodina Villanueva

Ah... but with Nichols closed, everyone will be using C5. That damn line will go from the base of the bridge all the way to Bicutan, now...

ang hirap naman nito ... dapat lift ang coding scheme, tiyak ma-delay motorists nito ...pero teka po 2300 up to 0400 ba ito on Feb 27-Mar 01? kung ganun po wala na pala coding
