Do US car rental companies require you to get Collision Damage Waiver / Liability Insurance, accident insurance?

Is this optional or required for foreigners (Pinoys) who travel to the US?

    Thanks in advance.

in the u.s. and in europe, you need a credit card to rent a car. the credit card already has insurance included in it if you use it to rent a car. however, there may be some co payment for damage incurred. check your credit card policy fine print. it should be there

Last time I rented a car in the USA, the insurance was only an option.

I've never experience renting a car in the US kasi meron naman ako nahihiram na libre... pero tama sila optional yan...

Optional yan, and if they force you to get one, decline politely.
